      In June I decided to replace my *************** with PEX. After contacting several companies I chose MeadowRidge Plumbing and Gas. The owner quoted 4700 including GST. The June 11 estimate didn't include outside work from the city line to the house which he said would cost extra.The work was to start on July 9 from 8 AM to 1 PM with drywall work the next day. They arrived at 8 AM and shut off the water. By midday the owner left and the work stopped. It was a hot day and I had only fans for cooling. After two hours he returned but had to wait for a delayed truck stuck in traffic. When I asked why they didn't call another truck they insisted on waiting. Finally another person was called and work resumed finishing around 5 PM. Without water all day I became dehydrated.The next day no one came for the drywall work. When I called the office I was told the worker was on holiday. After numerous calls the worker's son came on Thursday to patch the walls taking three days. He was punctual cleaned up and was polite.On July 15 I had no water for laundry. I had to call the office to send someone to turn it on.I experienced many issues with MRPG. They lacked contingency plans for delays or absences causing significant inconvenience. Despite being told the job would take from 8 AM to 1 PM on the first day and the next for drywall the work extended far beyond this timeframe and the final cost did not match the agreement.On July 19 the owner arrived at 2 PM with the final bill. The bill did not reflect the services provided. There was no water for the laundry machine on July 15. The owner also said he would bring a certificate for insurance purposes but it was not included. When I expressed concerns about the work and discrepancies he became angry, refused to listen (as noted in complaint above) and threatened to place a lien on my house and take me to court.Is this how MRPG does business and treats seniors? I do not recommend this company to anyone

      Good Morning 

      Meadow Ridge Plumbing & ******* does not agree with the statement that *********************** states. We have completed everything she asked and took very good care in making sure everything was completed in a timely matter. We started on the Monday morning July 8th @ 8am we completed the full re-pipe & water main replacement all that day with water on by 3pm. Drywall repairs were completed by July 13th with-in five business days. 

      We did not take a deposit nor has ********************** paid anything at this time for work completed. We made sure she had water that day & water to fill any toilets. After everything was completed we book a meet to receive payment on July 19th @ 2:00pm. ********************** was not very polite & rude after everything we completed she then went on to say she was not paying & wanted a discount. We have decided to completed a Lien on the property & if not paid with in 30 days we will take further action to small claims court.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The statements in the response are not correct. When they finished, ******* turned on the main city water himself. I mentioned that he needed to call the city, but he said it was too late as the office was closed. At 5 PM they left without checking the water pressure. ******* did not inspect the inside of the house nor the crawl space to ensure everything was clean and functioning because he had to rush home. After another person came to cement the hole in the crawl space, ******* did not check if it was done properly.


      The job was not completed in five days as stated. It took from Monday to the following Monday (6 business days), and I did not have water in the laundry room during that time. ******* was the one who became angry and left, threatening me. The job must be completed properly to be paid. He did not provide a certificate for insurance purposes. I will need to hire an inspector to verify the work.
      I will pay when I receive a correct invoice, a certificate, and a written apology for how I was treated. If ******* decides to go to court, I will seek compensation for the distress caused.

      Hired Meadowridge plumbing for extensive plumbing work to be done, and agreed on a total price. Work was to be divided in stages and paid when respective stage was completed. The owner became inexplicably irate when the third stage wasn't paid for due to his mistakes and sloppiness which resulted in incomplete work. He was argumentative, and refused to accept any responsibility whatsoever (also lied about cleaning up the messes they made because I did the cleanup). When he arrived to finish the incomplete stage, he still forgot to fix 2 of the piping errors, drain vents, tub/shower drains. He made errors on basboard heating locations after I clearly marked where I wanted them so my flooring has holes to patch up. He said he wanted to finish everything in 1 day which was his request to avoid coming back to finish the 3rd stage right away. I made the mistake of trusting his word and paid for the incomplete work. Now he wants to charge an extra $4000 on top of what we agreed; $2500 of which is for the stage I already paid him for. Additionally, he wanted to rush to install the wrong valve until I persisted in him calling the vendor (his coworker also cautioned him about it being the wrong part). He also allegedly performed a pressure test on the water pipes that should have taken much longer. I had to hire another plumber to perform the proper test and inspect his work. Very dissatisfied with this company's communication, ethics, professionalism, and *****.

      The customers statement is 100% false. Meadow Ridge Plumbing hasn’t done anything incorrect. We do not owe any funds as we invoice a percentage of completion of the project. We do not wish to discuss this matter any further and would recommend the customer to pull his complaint from BBB.

      I am rejecting this response because:

       

      The phase of work is incomplete and already paid for. They wanted to invoice another payment while the drains and vents were not completed yet pain for in full. In addition, the work that was done is unsatisfactory and sloppy to say the least. Multiple holes in the subfloor from their mistakes that were not patched, not cleaning up before they leave, and not performing necessary testing of plumbing. These are all things that Meadowridge plumbing's own company motto contradict. When the owner was notified by the BBB about my complaint, he left a *********** voicemail which adds to his unprofessional and unreasonable attitude in the matter instead of trying to reach a fair conclusion. I stand by my legitimate complaint entirely.

      I've attached all the estimates we provided to the customer. We have invoiced the client $11,854 which he has paid in full. He refused us to complete the job as he feels we have over charged him but as you can see from the estimate we have not done anything incorrect. He doesn't understand that construction is invoiced by completion of work during the project. We feel his complaints are unwanted & incorrect.

      The invoices were indeed paid in full, however the work was not completed. The drains, drain vent, and drain testing were not completed but paid for in full. I made it clear for Meadowridge plumbing to finish the paid work and should not be billed but they billed anyways. This is in addition to sloppy work, horrible communication, and an unprofessional attitude. The personal ****** left on my voicemail, subfloor damage, and mess all attest to my legitimate complaint. I am reasonable, and would consider a partial refund for the incomplete portion of the work.

      Meadowridge plumbing is wrong and the facts show it

       

      1. Didn't complete portion of work that was paid for

      2. Left holes all over subfloor

      2. Did not perform proper pressure test

      4. Tried to bill when they were scheduled to complete drains they kept having to come back to correct due to their incompetence and rush.

       

      The paid invoices, photographs, plumbing review by licensed company all back my claim. The owner is completely incapable of communicating, and accepting responsibility for his unprofessional work. And in addition made idle ******* when became aware of my bbb complaint instead of fixing the issue like an adult who backs his business.

      Summary: After 11 months of silence, Meadow Ridge Plumbing and Gas is trying to get me to pay for Drywall repair work that their subcontractor (*********) walked away from, without completing. Morover, what drywall repair work was done, was of very poor quality. After raising my concerns and over a month of pleading with Meadow Ridge Plumbing to "make it right" by fixing the poor drywall work and completing the unfinished work(to no avail), in December 2020, it was agreed with MeadowRidge Plumbing that I would arrange to fix/complete the drywall work myself - which I did. [Please see attached Word document for Details] Desired outcome: I want Meadow Ridge Plumbing and Gas to stop trying to collect money from me for drywall repair work that their subcontractor walked away from a year ago, as I had to pay another company to fix/complete the bulk of the work - in addition to providing my own time/labour to repair the poor drywall work what was done in the laundry room, closet and bathroom.
