Started by inquiring about a car on marketplace All this happened over my vacation the week before Christmas. This led me to a representative at Maple Ridge VW to test drive the first car a ***** C300, ****** value. On the test drive codes showed up and it blew a belt. Had to get the car, the salesman, and I towed back to the dealer. the first disappointment. i then decided to give the dealer a second chance, left my 10, 000 refundable deposit with them. Then i took home for a day a 2. 013 ML350. 20, 000 of value. Codes showed up again, lurching issues, and just by chance my ***** was at the shop and i got him to read the codes. The second disappointment. As it stands i could not finance the rest of the cost of the car due to age. At this time i was gonna just get my cash and keep looking. But The 3rd car was a 2018 C300, and at ****** was the newest and most expensive car i was trying. thus should have been the least issues. After a quick test drive on Christmas Eve just before they closed i agreed to take this car home to check and evaluate. that night, on the way to my family event , many codes up on the dash my high beams, turn signals stopped working. this caused me to stay over at my friends place and park the defective car. i didnt want to go through road blocks with defective lights. The third and final disappointment. the car stayed parked at my place till I got ahold of the manager and we agreed to take it to ******** in Guilford right by my place. on Jan 2. Which is where it is parked since. I had many conversations with different managers, pertaining with my displeasure with my whole car shopping experience. Fri Jan 5th one manager says "too bad its my money Now" i met the next day for a respectable sit down with another manager. He called back and said the same. i either finish buying the car cause they needed $5,000 to complete the sale, or we keep your cash I text back stating i will take to BBB , VSA, and a Lawyer this week.

Had issues with straight lying from Adam the Sales Manager. Was not forthright on deal numbers, total cost of lease/car, etc. Scott in finance then had me sign documents without explaining anything or letting me know he had me sign my rights away from ‘cooling off period’. Wouldn’t allow me to the cooling off period when I found all the lies made and Extra costs they had written into the lease. Told me this was a legally binding document. Did exchange the car for a lower priced one as they had flat out lied about what I could write off for taxes. Tried to have me sign my rights away from legal action. Did not provide me with the dealership promotions of the month. Called me weeks later to say they made an error and needed me to resign lease - numbers had been changed again. I did not feel comfortable with this and told them so. No response - did not take any following payments (had already paid first month) from my account even with the bank info direct payment and signed lease. Sent me a text message stating the car then had a lien on it as I hadn’t paid in 2 months? Which actually wasn’t true. The list goes on. I have spent at least 10 hours at this dealership and apparently the lease I have is not valid? They made a mistake but can’t tell me why other numbers have changed on the lease and why it is legal for them to change the lease but I wasn’t legally allowed? I have witnessed consistent lies and concerned this yet another.

      Hello

Maple Ridge VW has reached out to ***** ***** multiple times through call and text.  She refuses to sign the amended contract for the 2023 ****** that she bought from us in March of 2023. She has stated on a call that she would sign the contract but as of today's date nothing has been signed. The amended contract is for a lower payment than she originally signed up for.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

      - it does not address the issues of the complaint.

-I was just given the updated lease 2 days ago, of which i have not refused to sign but told Sales Manager ADAM at VW i needed to have legal counsel review. Earliest appt for this is next week and this action is within any normal business practice.

      Sincerely,

      ***** *****

Transaction was May 17th. I went in to buy a vehicle and get out of my ****** lease. I gave the dealership 2 trade ins. One for $4500 and one for $6500, in the end that covered more than what was left in my lease. The whole time I was making this deal they wouldn’t give me or show me a total price, only biweekly payments. In the end I signed my vehicles over and I had the 2016 ** ***** I just bought without being informed of the Total cost. In the end they had financed me for $30,000 for 7 years on a car that is beat up on the outside with lots of scrapes and scratches and has 113,000km. The cost of a 2016 ** ***** in good condition is around $15,000. I asked a salesman yesterday as I was finally there after being screwed around with for a month by the salesman because I was supposed to bring the car in for a slight bit of body work that was supposed to be included. The salesman I talked to told me a brand new ***** costs the same I paid for my 2016 *****. I feel like I was *******. $30,000 is a lot for a car that might only have 3 years left in it.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: I’m not satisfied, I’ve just given up on dealing with Maple Ridge Volkswagen and will not be going back there for anything on the sales side of things. I still feel like the sales manager didn’t clearly explain things aside from the monthly rate so I still feel like it was bad business. I get that “the information is in the binding contract” so I can’t do anything about it. When I went in to speak the the head of operations at VW because he asked me to, he had me wait in the lobby for over an hour which is also very poor business considering the fact he asked me to come in and knew when I was going to be there. I will never recommend Maple Ridge Volkswagen to anyone, stay far away from this business.

      Sincerely,

      **** ******

A few issues with this company. First: years ago I bought a 2017 Toyota ****** off of them. The sticker price was $37000. We start going through all the paper work had it all signed. The salesman talks to his manager. The manager brings me over and explains that there was an error and it should be $47000. Me being a nice person, although I know my rights as consumer could have fought for my 37k price, but I let it slide. Second: They promised me gift cards for tires or accessories, none of which I ever received. Third: A year or 2 goes by. They offer me a brand new ******, I accept we do the trade in, and a few days later about $4000 appears in my bank account. And then a few days later asking for that money back, I don't know why I did, I should have kept it, but I sent it back. And now lastly, and this is definitely the last time I'm dealing with these people: traded in the new ****** for a ********** *****, because I couldn't afford the truck. It was missing the spare key, and was told ***** **** *** ** *** *** *** ***** ** ***** **** *** ********* We'll months go by I haven't heard anything. Go and get my very first service, and the mechanic asks me why I have 3 new tires and 1 used. Couldn't answer him. So I sent a picture of the invoice to maple ridge, and complained about the key 2 weeks ago. ***** **** ** ** ******** he replied immediately. I sent another one yesterday saying I haven't heard anything, and still haven't heard anything. This is beyond frustrating. How can they legally sell a car with mis matched tires?!? Not to mention all these other issues. I'm just so sickof dealing with them. Thanks. ***** ******
