They charged my credit card for pipe and drape they claim to have provided for an event I held there on March 30, 2024. Not only did I not request pipe and drape from the Coast Bastion, but they could not have provided it since the pipe and drape we used was rented from a local business. This is clear evidence of a fraudulent act, but not the first. So far the Coast Bastion attempted to fraud me out of $250 by claiming that we requested staff to set up our equipment on the patio when it was myself and my club members who did so, and that we requested Coast staff to set up extra tables in the hallway when it was their staff member who called me at 3:22pm on Friday March 29 and asked me to come in to confirm the room set up, offering suggestions on the best set up with no mention of extra fees. They have fraudulently charged my credit card for $250 plus fees for items (coffee thermoses) not listed on the Banquet Order, and that cannot reliably be proven to have been provided at all. As the sole contact for the event who's credit card they have on file, I can confidently declare that I did not order additional thermoses, nor can they prove that I did so. Any charges made to my credit card without authorization, as a result of the actions and decisions of Coast staff, amounts to conspiracy to defraud me for financial gain. They also claim that I pre-authorized such additional charges in the catering contract based on some "post-consumption" clause where any and all guests or hotel staff at an event can order whatever they like and run up my bill without my approval and without restriction. Not only is this not a reasonable term of contract, but I see no such clause in the contract. The above represents a pattern of behaviour where you have made false claims about requests (e.g. patio set-up), and false claims about services provided (e.g. pipe and drape) in order to defraud me out of money.
