    I hired Michelle to do some basic renovations on my apartment. Total cost for the project was quoted approx. $45,000. Demolition started on Sept 23, 2022. I was told I would be able to move back in on Oct 2 when the bulk of work was completed, with my kitchen completed shortly after. When I came back from vacation, none of the renovation work had been completed and the apartment was still in demolition phase. Several weeks went by without any work being completed nor any explanation. I was given numerous other deadlines, all of which were not met. It would be an additional month and a half before I could move back. More recently, I was told my kitchen would be arriving mid Nov 2022, and paid $17,840.25. That date came and went, with no work done and no explanation. Michelle failed to answer numerous phone calls and messages, only sending sporadic emails to schedule appointments where again, no work was completed without any explanation. Starting Jan 25 2023, I made multiple attempts to contact Michelle but my calls were screened and messages read without response. Finally on Feb 6, I received an email response. An appt was scheduled for Feb 10, which was once again missed. I believe I have been mislead through the entirety of this project, with Michelle being dishonest and not forthwright with timelines. I am requesting Michelle pays back my last payment of $17,840.25 on Nov 16 since no work has been completed from this date, compensation fireplace tiling since the wrong tile was used, compensation for retexturing the ceiling in the living room since trades created a bigger issue than necessary, and an additional $5,000 for the mental stress this project has caused me, as well as additional financial expenses incurred from when I was not able to live in my apartment, and still without a kitchen.

    Michelle remodeled my bathroom in 2020/21. She had many great ideas and samples, but fell short in the areas of communication and completion.Due to lack of coordination, her trades people would sometimes undo what the other had done in order to complete their job. The first trades person would then have to come patch up the mess before they could continue. I would wait two weeks or more with out hearing from Michelle. I would be the one to contact her to find out when she would be coming by next. In all it took 18 months to renovate my bathroom. It would have taken longer if I had not hired a ********* on my own to finish the job. She also was inflexible with finding cheaper materials. I found the exact same vanity she bought for $300 cheaper from Wayfair yet she refused to return the other one. The vanity she ordered was 3 cms. too big for the space which was why I hired the *********. She said her ********* was always too busy to come and finish the job. The ********* I hired came in and shaved one side of the vanity to install it with in 2 hours.This lack of service did not occur due to rudeness on my part or money. I was always polite (sometimes assertive when it had been 3 weeks since she had come by!) and I paid her in installments as requested for the entire quote, plus extra for supplies that had increased in price. However I held back a small amount of money to be paid out when the job was done. In the end I gave this money to the ********* I hired as well as additional funds to finish the job as it cost more than the last funds I had held back.I was very dissatisfied with the lack of communication, the time it took to complete the project and in the end the way in which I was spoken to when inquiring as to why it was taking so long. On a positive note, her trades people did a very good job when they were here.

    2020 and 2021 was difficult getting materials and trades. Some trades were sick or exposed and delays happened. We did our best in challenging times and were responsive to requests and revising the quote for best possible pricing. The vanity had been shipped, delivered and partially installed (lighting for mirror) and was unable to be returned after. We also didn't know if the other vanity found would be shipped as the supply chain was very hit and miss at that time. The *************** took three months to arrive even though it was supposed to be here in two weeks. The difference was fitting in the vanity to existing space that was a shower unit previously and converted into open space. We measured and chose that vanity for its width. The size and width of the vanity was not a custom vanity and we did a lot of researching to find one that would work. If it had been a custom piece it would have been more expensive but would be sized to fit The flooring she picked and tiles for the shower were all approved by her. Extra costs occur when client chooses additional items not in the original scope or the quote is revised due to necessity once demo is completed. This was all discussed prior to any additional work being completed. I always had a good relationship with **** and other then the final install for the vanity everything else was completed . I did have several trades look at it and we had someone lined up to complete it. We did the best we could and we are sorry you are unhappy It was a difficult time for trades and supplies. I apologize for any inconvenience or lack of communication that you felt. It was not intended to be disrespectful. We hope you are enjoying your new bathroom and are doing well. .
