I needed help with reattaching a broken off duct, adding a tee to connect another fan to the exhaust, along with an exhaust fan install. I sent all the instructions with photos and we agreed on an estimate of $400-$500. The work was done and I was told everything was addressed and tested and running perfectly and was billed for $475. However, when I got home, I realized that the repair and the modification I had asked for were not done at all. The fan was installed but the fan exhaust had been connected to another fan in another washroom! Later I realized the the work I had asked for had not been communicated to the crew. Even then, the crew had not tried to figure out where the exhaust should go, connected the fan to the first thing they saw, and failed to test and verify their work properly. When I reached back, Jeremy was very accommodating with sending the crew back to fix the issue and said that I won’t cost me anything extra. The re-work resulted in an extra day of work, leading to loss of my rental revenue. The fixes were done and I was given a $700 bill. The bill had no breakdown of where costs were coming from for labour, materials, etc. and was way above what we had discussed and at no point I was informed that there would be additional costs on top of our initial agreement. When I inquired about the bill, the $200-$300 surcharge was justified to be due to a $20 reducer that had to be purchased and added to the fan. I could have done this job myself but decided to go with a contractor to have it done fast and professionally but neither one of those expectations were met. The only thing I was happy with was the quick response from Jeremy throughout.
