              Put a deposit on a campsite of 250$ July 23, 2023. We did not purchase the cancelation insurance. We knew we would not be cancelling our deposit was for August 26 - September 3rd, 2023. Sadly on August 19, 2023 government of British Columbia put forth a Travel Restriction for all non-essential travel to Kelowna, Penticton, Osoyoos and other areas due to the fires impacting the area. We by law cannot travel from Alberta to Penticton and asked that we get our deposit returned or at lest a portion as this is out of our control. They refused even tho this is a natural disaster. They informed me that the travel restriction doesn’t impact their location but after speaking to Emergency info BC they confirmed this establishment was under the order. This establishment told me to drive from AB to Penticton even with the travel restrictions saying not to, with the air condition index saying extremely harmful. This is unacceptable for an establishment to not work with me and find a solution especially due to this natural disaster. We didn’t cancel our reservation we legally couldn’t come due to the government travel restriction - this establishment should understand this

              I’ve recently had to cancel due to the wildfires situation, and the ban on travel in BC and the request made by the government for no out of province, campers to be in BC in order for firefighters and evacuees to have places to go. I did cancel at the time that these bands were in a place & contacted the owners of Wrights beach campsite and was told there would be no refund unless the particular trailer that I had rented was rented during the period that I had booked. I have no idea how I would ever know if that trailer was rented during that period or not regardless there is no refund being offered and we’re talking about an $800 sum of money. This is the worst business I’ve dealings with who claim to be British Columbian, and you would think they would want to help their fellow British Colombian’s in a serious situation, such as has happened this past summer. I will be seeking other avenues to get my money back, but I find this to be inconsiderate and far beyond what any business would want to have a future customer go through guaranteed my wife and I will not ever go to this beach campsite. Very Very disappointed
