On August 27th my timing belt snapped on my car I had it towed to port moody auto and air because I considered them to be friends . That being said upon arrival they right away told me my timing belt was broken and that it was an easy fix . So I say how much was quoted 5 to 600 I agree , days later I receive a call that the car indeed did start up but my original problem (broken timing belt) was in part caused by a oil leak and that I should have the oil pump and leaks fixed as it will just happen again . So they quote me up to 2000$ . I agree to the work as long as my car is going to be fixed I said they assured me it would be . So on Sept 3rd I called cause I'm curious what is going on and I'm told it's on the hoist getting fixed today . The next day I'm called told my car is ready . I go pick it up and told its running like crap . Sure enough after doing diagnostics with a actually worse then when it went in . They did not do a compression test before talking me into other partsBusiness response

To Whom it may concern:In response to complaint ID ********, there are inaccurate discrepancies.***** *** *********** ****** *** *** ******* *** *** ******** ** **** ***** **** * *** ****** * ******* he was as were we, fully aware he had a constant oil leak along with, as he described, an intermittent head gasket issue which we advised should be repaired to avoid catastrophic failure... However, he chose to continue driving in this state allowing oil to leak for this duration of time which resulted in timing belt failure, as oil continued to leak on the belt. And he declined to have head gasket repaired. He was made aware that the oil pump would require replacement BEFORE he experienced the timing belt failure, so this cost was not a surprise, in turn he authorized work.Mr. *** was not "talked into" anything. His part failure needed to be rectified, and he agreed to have us do so when he had the vehicle towed in. I'm not sure why he thought a compression test could be done before said repair as that is NOT possible to do with a broken timing belt. He was advised by phone that after the repair was done his vehicle was running poorly because not only did his timing belt break, but once that repair was complete it became apparent that failure was the final nail in the coffin for his "intermittent" head gasket failing. Again, when there is a failure as such, it must be repaired in order to test other components. So the "Desired Settlement" request of "refund" is completely inappropriate in this matter.Sincerely--
