I purchased “forest bookshelf” for my toddler on Tender leaf toys on Oct. 26 2023, my order number is *********. When I first received the bookshelf and assembling it, I found one defective piece. I contacted tender leaf, experienced bad customer service, they would go 3 business days not replying to my email, I had to chase them twice for them to ship out the new part for me. After 2 weeks, I finally received the right part, and trying to finish assembling the bookshelf, yet another 2 defects surfaced: 1. the bottom piece of the plywood was partly painted, from the bookshelf’s picture online it should not be painted (looks like it was painted by mistake) 2. The hole for the plastic nut on the top cross-piece of plywood is not deep enough for the plastic nut, so I have one level of the bookshelf that cannot be put up. I communicated with tender leaf again trying to find a solution. They asked me what part do I need to fix the problems, but to be honest I do not want this product anymore as it has many defects and I don't consider it safe and I don't want time to wait for another 2 weeks for them to find and ship the parts, so I requested refund, but 5 business days has go by and they did not give me any reply at all. It’s very irresponsible to just ignore a customer’s email/inquiry by just ghosting me. To sum up, I’m complaining about: 1. the original product has 3 defects and tender leaf should do a better quality check before shipping it out, especially considering this bookshelf is meant for small children. 2. tender leaf is not responsive and being responsible as a company should by just ignoring customer's email. I'm very willing to return the product as I believe it's defective and should not be sold in the first place, however I do not think the customer should spend another few hours trying to disassmble, pack and take it to a mail office. The company should schedule a pick up and I will leave the product as-is.
