In December of 2021 I contact 2 different contractors for a quote on hot water tank replacement ***** ******** * ***** *** ******* ******** * *****). I then gave the green light to A. H. Plumbing and told him it is not an emergency and do the job when he was available. He then showed up in January to do the job. After the job was complete he left without saying anything about invoicing. I contacted him 2 weeks later and got no reply. Then I got a call 2 months later asking me for my email and he would send invoice. I then got invoice and was shocked by an additional $1000 over charge. The email communication began and I explained that at no time was I told by phone or in person that it is now $2300. He denied quoting me $1300 and also said his worker would have advised me onsite that there was more work involved. **** ********* *** ***** ******* *** not a word was said advising me of additional cost due to it being a 2 man job. I insisted that he stick to his original quote and I would except some reasonable adjustment. He outright refused and said if that is all I will pay then fine. I agreed to provide him with an additional $300 so at least it is inline with his competitor. He then issued another invoice with the adjustment, however, he added a line on the quote as follows, "Total cost supply and install $2295.15 - $1600.00 = $695.15 unpaid cost". I asked him to remove this line and he refused without explanation. My concern now is when I pay the invoice, he will then come back to me and ask for the remaining "unpaid cost" as he now sees the situation. I cannot move any further on this sticking point and ask for your help.Business response

Regarding this complaint; I never give a quote over the phone when there is labour involved. I sent my plumber BK. to asses the job and he told the client it would cost more because it needed two plumbers instead of the usual one for his hot water tank. He hired us to do this and now says I quoted him 1300 over the phone for this job and says he'll pay 1600 and no more. After a lot of back and forth I decided it wasn't worth a big fight and I said fine pay whatever you want. Now he won't pay because there is a note in the body of the invoice for my accountant that has the original amount minus the new agreed amount so he can allocate the deficiencies created in the labour cost. He says I will come after him later for this amount if it's not removed. I think I have done enough to accommodate this man and if he believes I won't stick to my agreement that's on him. I would just like to be paid, as anyone would after supplying a service.Customer response
