    Ordered a vase arrangement inspired by a photo from the store's website (which included lavender tones). Worked with the owner/head designer to customize and focus it on the lavender color as it was for a celebration of life and their favorite color (not to mention. Picked up the arrangement myself and took directly to the service and brought it back home the same day. The next morning (24 hours after pickup) several flowers were expiring (drooping, dropping petals). I was disappointed on the longevity let the owner know a few days later. What a mistake -- it made an already disappointing situation worse. I didn't even want anything from her; just to let her know what had happened. She asked for photos so I dug out the flowers I could and then went through multiple emails of excuses, blame and justifications ranging from the color and types of flowers chosen (even though it was based on their own photo and input from the owner/head designer), suggestions I had exposed the flowers to heat exhaustion situation (I had not), that she was a small business and had limitations to handling perishable product (what? a florist who can't handle perishable product?). She offered me a $25 credit but I declined as I was not looking for compensation, only her to know the disappointment in the longevity of the flowers. I also read further back in this stores ****** ******* and see I am not the only one who complained of both quality of product and owner response. To clarify -- I don't want any further communication with this business but do want others to know what to expect when dealing with them.

    A Passion for Flowers Response

    We were very surprised when ** ******* reported that the flowers that we had created and specifically brought in for her order, (fresh from our suppliers), expired within 1-4 days of *** ******'s celebration of life (the purpose of the flowers). She mentioned that it looked lovely for the service. *** ******* mentioned many times that she did not expect anything in return and just wanted to let us know of the quality, we were quite shocked, as usually flowers do not expire all at the same time. We opened up with a genuine conversation with her and wanted to get to the bottom of why this happened. We did ask her for some photos so that we could discuss with our suppliers, we did use more delicate flowers- likes hydrangeas, roses, lisianthus and stock which were used to create the lavender touches in the arrangement, (she did request the roses and lisianthus). Upon receiving the photos, we were surprised that the roses were not spent at all and that some of the flowers were showing natural aging and required a little pruning , the stock stems were still standing upright. While the flowers that were obviously stressed, we acknowledged was a problem- lisianthus. We did ask a few questions from her as we thought heat was an issue. We weren't able to obtain credit from the suppliers based on her photos of the roses nor from our sample stems that we had left out from the cooler to try to get the same results as hers. Our products that we tested are actually still alive to this day! We did offer her a replacement bouquet of hardier-type flowers or a small credit towards a future order. Unfortunately, we were not able to resolve this issue with her. At no time, did we mean to disrespect her or make the situation worse for her (with *** ***** *******), we were simply trying to get to the bottom of things so that we could accurately report to our suppliers. We did advise her that her credit was going to be added to her file should she change her mind in the future. We deal with perishable products - some flowers will last longer than others and the environments that they are placed in will also have an effect. All factors that we are not able to control. We have been in business for over 16 years, and unfortunately have had a few disappointing reviews along the way but for the majority of our clientele, they continue to show us love and support to us, which we are grateful for.

    In response to the owners reply to my review, there are inaccuracies and I have had enough. The bottom line is I bought flowers from her, the quality was not acceptable with respect to longevity and when I brought it to her attention her customer service was of the same unacceptable quality. We received another arrangement for this event, from a friend, different florist, and 11 days later we still have 75% of it. Even the flowers of the same type as we got in the one from A Passion for Flowers lasted 5 days longer. I don't want to continue ruining the memory of the celebration of life with this constant back and forth so I'm done.
