      In November 2021, during a meeting to get a quote for service with Dazzle Carpets' operations manager, he became ********** and began questioning my knowledge about my personal health. Very odd. Then when he found out that I am a journalist, he began asking if I was recording him and if I was going to "****** *** ** *** *****." Regardless of his ********** behaviour, I proceeded to obtain a quote because Dazzle uses non-toxic products that were suitable for the health of people in our condo building. After providing a quote, I proceeded to launch a process to convince council as to why Dazzle was the right company for the job (ie. because of their products). After 6 full months, the council accepted Dazzle's quote. I emailed the operations manager, he responsed that he was "excited" to do the work, and we scheduled a date. Then a couple of weeks before the date, he abruptly canceled the job without a plausible explanation. He claimed he wasn't confident their products met our needs, but we had already confirmed the products met our needs. He also knew we were going to sign a waiver about the products. He had 6 months to pull out and give us time to find another company, but he waited until the job was scheduled. He wasted 6 months of our time and now we have to start from scratch. Very unprofessional. I have numerous emails that we exchanged over 6 months.

      A written agreement was made and residents were notified of the cleaning and instructed on clearing the hallways to allow for the cleaning. We had an contractual agreement and a date set and residents were notified.

      We performed a quotation for work at a strata property, of which we understand Ms. B****** is a resident on or around Nov 16, 2021.  That quotation was for the cleaning of carpet cleaning services.  When we provide quotations, that is (like all businesses) intended to allow customers the ability to evaluate our services.  That initial meeting was unusual in my experience, in that I was suspicious Ms. B****** was recording the interaction, and she insisted she had the right to do so.   Following the quotation, we were left with the impression that if Ms. B****** was dissatisfied with our services, whether justified or not, there was a high risk of litigation and reputational risk associated with the work.  Ultimately, we decided we did not want to enter into a contract with Ms. B******’s strata for this reason. 


      We informed Ms. B****** of this on or about April 6, 2022, and offered to recommend other businesses which perform similar services.  She was very upset by this, and (consistent with our initial fears) ********** social media and litigation in an effort to force us to contract with her strata and provide our services to it.  It is odd that Ms. B****** has filed a complaint against our business in what appears to be an effort to force our business to perform services for her strata.  While we are not willing to do so,  we have continued to offer to recommend similar service providers to Ms. B******’s strata property, although we have requested to deal with a different representative of the strata going forward, as there does not appear to be any utility in continuing to engage with Ms. B******.
      For clarity, at no time has our company entered into a contractual relationship with Ms. B****** or her strata property, nor have our cleaning services been provided for either.

      We do not understand Ms. B****** has any formal position on behalf of her strata, and question whether she has the standing to file a complaint against the business on its behalf.  We would request a member of the Strata’s Board be engaged in this process if it proceeds – as that is the entity which the quotation was performed for.  

      To comment on the measurement, we use a laser measuring tool to measure precisely the square footage of each area of the building so that we can give the most accurate quote, we don't believe in eyeing things up, or going based on opinions, only on factual numbers.

      Complaint: ********

      This complaint was settled and closed by the BBB in April. I found another company to clean the carpets, which they did in early May. We have since moved to a home in East Van with a beautiful yard for our dog. :)
