Hello, I signed up for a sewing class with the cut fashion design academy and they claimed they were a part of the VCC but after I started the program I found out they were not. Their machines were broken out of 10 machines only 3 were working, I *********** ****** ** ** ********** *****, and felt unwelcomed. After 1 day of attending the class I left and asked for a refund but they did not grant me the refund. This business takes your money and then none of the machinery works and the students are left with less credits than needed to graduate. I would like a refund of $500 as I only went one day and saw the conditions and left. I tried contacting them but they would not listen to be complaint or respond to my messages.Business response

Hello thank you for the email. We never said nor have we every said nor do we advertise that we are part of VCC. We are an accredited post secondary. BBB can look on our website to see we do not advertise this. We also CLEARLY state we do not offer refunds. We let this student know she was welcome to take privates if she did not enjoy the class.
** ******* ** ******* **** ** * **** ********* *** ** * ****** ******* ****** **** ** ********** ******* We have South East Asian instructors, Jewish instructors, West African and South African instructors, we have Armenian and Taiwanese instructors at The Cut. We also have Australian and Caucasian, Syrian and Iraqi instructors. As the owner of this business who intentionally employs diverse ethnicities.
I also want to state clearly that when ***** said she was not happy with the class, we offered her 2 different options to improve her experience (2 different instructors)
We are a small business, and these types of allegations can destroy a business. This is why we have to by LAW put on our site we do not give cash refunds. ***** found us through the website.
As far as the machines go. ***** jammed her machine a few times while learning how to sew. We have over 15 machines at all times in the school and only take maximum 10 students in a class. So if 3 machines were broken we still have 2 extra.
