On February 28th,2022 I enlisted the services of Mr R*****. I needed his help to retrieve certain immigration documents specifically basis of claim and RPD decision as I did not have them in my possession. We set up an appointment for me to come in and pay for the service. He did promise to send an email copy of the receipt but he never did. I paid in cash. He charged me 500 for the service and 150 for government fees. I needed the services performed promptly and assured me that he would deliver. Since then he never once called to tell me if he made any progress. I was the one reaching out time and time again. March 15 I asked if any updates no response. Whenever I called he never once answered. March 30 I requested a refund since then it’s been one story after the other. I went to the office he never once reached out nor answered when his receptionist called him. I have attached all the communication between my spouse and mr r*****. The money they paid for was consultation regarding a matter which was non refundable. But I still agree to apply them the refund as I can not waste more time on this matter. I asked the concerned person to send me the email address to etransfer the amount. They don't have their own email address rather giving me someone's else's email address. As I said I am willing to refund.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I paid this amount in cash and he never said that the consultation fee was non refundable. He is well aware of the fact that i have no valid status for me to access a bank account i am unable to even apply for govt id and renew my social insuarance number then proceed to get a bank account. He is blatant liar. I gave him my spouses email transfer instead and he continued to ignore me like he always does. This lawyer never once paid attention past that initial encounter not one single phone call to even ask me what my date of birth is. He barely even knows my name the secretary is not even aware of anything at his office. Mr r***** never once sent me an email to notify me if he even contacted the refugee board to even get my basis of claim or my RPD which was was my response to what immigration had settled on the matter. Never once called me or wmiled me when that matter was very time sensitive and my permanent residence was at the ****** of being cancelled thats why i needed his help in the first place. He lies about being out of town every time i ask him about the refund. I want the refund because i know his actions are not right.to retrive the documents

I am rejecting this response because:mr R***** always says he will send the refund but he doesn’t answer when I call or text him. He lies all the time. Please write a cheque and I will pick it up at the office.

I receieved a call on October 20, 2022 from the better business bureau regarding if i recieved my refund. The lawyer has refused to refund the amount and have not heard from him since. He does not return calls or texts.Initial Complaint

I went to this business to help me file for my ********* ********* Application on 1st March, 2021 and was charged $2500 for it, I paid him $1500 that day On 29th A**il he called me to tell me I have gotten invitation to apply for ** and asked me to bring remaining $1000, he told what documents I might need example- work letter, transcript , etc but said I'll email it to you on Monday, we were meeting on 30th April. He also kept asking me to leave him a good review I texted him a few days later to send me list of documents I need, he said he'll send it, I texted him again and agin but he never sent them even tho I kept asking. I went online and found a few that I needed. I had everything ready by end of May and I texted him to book an appointment to submit the application and also sent him documents to make sure that's all I need. He didn't respond, I called him, he responded after 10 calls and said documents are fine and he'll call me back to set up appointment. He never did, I had to call him 100s of time and he kept flaking on appointments. Finally on 16th I got an appointment and when we got to office he asked me to fill out all the forms online as he forgot his glasses. I did his job and asked him to at least make sure it's all accurate. I was missing a bank statement but rest of it was done. I had documents in email, he renamed them for me. He said everything looks good. On 21st June, I got it and went to his office to finish up. On 12th August I got my processing fee refunded and was really nervous, I had to call him multiple times times to find out that my application got rejected on 4th August, he just didn't tell me and said he was on holidays for a couple of days, It was declined as it was missing my diploma copy. He even admitted that it was an honest mistake on his part over the phone but I asked for resolution he said he'll contact the MP, he never got back to me. He kept saying he's emailed him but he hasn't responded. Then he asked me for documents
