In September of 2021 I contacted 1-800-GOT-JUNK after viewing one of their TV ads promoting their service of picking up trash which included tires. I had a number of tires that I wanted to get rid of along with garbage bags of trash and an old beat up sofa. When they arrived they refused to take the tires even after I told them their ads do show them removing tires. I wrote to the owner of 1-800-GOT-JUNK and complained about their use of grossly misleading advertising but never heard back from him. In the letter I told him if I ever see another misleading ad I would file a complaint with the *** office and the BBB. On Saturday 7/30/22 I saw a number of their ads on **** TV once again showing an ad them shows them removing tires. Again, this is blatantly misleading advertising and I want consumers of this egregious pratice by this company.

      Business response

We are responding to this complaint that our advertising shows us removing tires and our website contains content about our removing and recycling tires however ****** was not able to get his tires removed in Sept 2021.

At that time unfortunately there was still a pandemic lockdown and we did not have access to tire recycling resources in his location. We had no control over which facilities would be operating during the pandemic. We explained that ** ****** at the time and he approved our rates and went ahead with the service.

He did mention that we referenced tire recycling on our website - we are in the process of amending our content to include that we cannot guarantee that all of our franchise locations are able to recycle tires at all times and that our customers should inquire with us to confirm the service availability in their particular market.  We believe this covers our television ads as well. We always encourage our customers to call our 1-800-GOt-JUNK? number and speak to a representative any time 24/7 to ask questions about our service model.

We believe this satisfies this request, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

      Best Regards, Anne ***** M****** - 1-800-GOt-JUNK? CX Manager

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

      Sincerely,
      ****** ******

PS: At the time I contacted 1-800-GOT-JUNK, I was not advised that they could not accept tires and shown in their television advertisement. If they had not shown the removal of tires in the ad this would not have been an issue. When I called them I was not advised that they could not take tires. Why would they advertise something that they cannot provide, THAT is the issue I have with them; and their ads continue to advertise this.

Unfortunately there is no further resolution we can provide.
