      On November 12, 2021 I selected a pair of frames for purchase. As I was about to pay, the lovely optician decided to charge for the ‘demo lenses’ on the frames at $190 plus taxes; I was charged $212.80 for the ‘demo lenses’. Bita the optician proceeded to explain that the ‘demo lenses’ were not free and if I returned them after filling my prescription she will refund the charge. Bita said she will discuss this with Brigitte the owner. A month later after filling my prescription, I returned to the store to return the demo lenses and collect my $212.80 and met I Brigitte and her partner. They absolutely refused to accept the demo lenses and refused to return my money. I explained that Bita had requested me to return the ‘demos’ for my money. Brigitte’s partner said I was crazy as the demos were worthless without the chassis. So I left and visited three other stores to find out if they sold their frames with demo lenses. *** ** **** ********* **** *** **** ****** **** ****** *** **** **** **** *** ******. ** * **** **** ** *** ****** ********** **** **** *** *** ** ***** ********* **** **** ********* ** ******* ********** ** ***** **** *** ******* Eyeglass Shops will charge for frames and taxes if you do not buy the lenses from them. This I understand completely, but they acted in bad faith for charging me extra ** ***** ***** *********** ****** if I bought the lenses from them. The Receipt attached indicate Frame only for 750, then Demos 190 (taxes included in total) I have blocked out my last name and **** card details for privacy. I can show you the receipts if you need to see them. Please look into this for me as it does not look right.

      We sell high end eye frames and most of them do not come with ***** lenses that determine the size and shape of the finished lenses to be made
      The frame the lady bought was a rimless ********* chassis which did come with ***** lenses
      The lady decided to buy the frame chassis only and make the lenses somewhere else
      In order to do so the other store/lab requires the ***** lenses in order to be able to make the finished lenses ie we sent them the lenses
      Customers who buy a rimless ********* chassis and the finished lenses will not get charged for the ***** lenses
      As a result we had to order new ***** lenses for our rimless frame chassis in the store
      The lady went to three other stores and if none of them are selling ********* frames the answers she got would not be accurate
      Our sales person Bita who sold the frame specifically told the lady that she would have to talk to the owner in regards a credit for the ***** lenses (the same thing was written down on the sales card)
      The lady came into the store last Saturday and we told her that we already ordered new ***** lenses and that we therefore can not give her a refund

      In addition our receipt and sign in the store says no refund
      We offered the lady a credit instead but to no prevail
      PS When we sell a frame only we have to by law charge all the applicable taxes and the lady argued and wanted us not to charge the taxes
      PS I respectfully request that you correct this situation and if not we will be contemplating of laying charges against the lady *** *********** ** *** *** ***** ********** ***** ** *******

      I am rejecting this response because:

      They never offered me a credit 

      " Customers who buy a rimless ********* chassis and the finished lenses will not get charged for the ***** lenses
      As a result we had to order new ***** lenses for our rimless frame chassis in the store"

      Bita told me that she would request Brigitte to give me a refund for the Demo lenses - the store owners when I visited the store never offered me a credit even though I had the demo lenses with me and I offered to return them, they would not accept them.

      I am happy to pay $750 + tax for the rimless glasses;  please ask them if  $190 + 12% taxes constitutes a fair price for plastic frames. Please ask them the nature of the credit they offered me because that is a flat lie.

      ********* the glasses manufacturer charges for ***** lenses. The lady was told that, she agreed and our employee never told her that she will get a refund
      In addition we don’t give refunds which is clearly stated in a sign in our store and on the receipt the lady received

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I do understand that the Better Business Bureau (BBB) provides a forum for consumers and businesses to reach a fair and reasonable resolution. Since the BBB is not in the business of adjudicating to assist consumers who bring to your attention unfair business practices, I have decided not pursue this matter any longer though I would like Mr. Othmar B****** to be aware of the following:

      1. It will be best for me not carry my ire over $190 + 12% tax into the New Year. I was naïve to trust Bita and that was entirely my fault.

      2. 2021 has been a difficult year for businesses and $212.8 ***** ** * **** *** ** ***** *** ****** **** *** ****** ** **** *** **** 

      3. Mr. Othmar B****** in our exchanges indicated that he sells high-end frames. I have two question for him, what kind of businessman sells high end merchandise and is not able to stand behind his products? What kind of businessman sells high end products but is afraid to offer a warranty?

      4. The receipt had certain conditions, please take a close look at the image.  – “No warranty”, “Frame Only”, “FINAL SALE”. When I paid Bita, I paid with the understanding that I was paying for the “chassis’ i.e. Frame only for $750 +12% tax. My understanding from Bita was that the “Demos” should not be destroyed by the lens fitter and may be returned.
      Mr. B****** has a lawyer, he should show his lawyer the receipt to examine all the conditions of the sale and the lawyer will tell him that the FINAL SALE is for the frame only and the amount charged for the “Demos” was indeed a deposit. The lawyer and Mr. B****** should interrogate Bita to find the truth. She should be able to tell the owners exactly what she told me - that information that is not coded on the receipt.

      5. Mr. B****** yelled out the demos were useless when I tried to return them for my “deposit”. I am not using a refund here because if I bought only the frames according to the receipt Bita issued. “Eyes for You” should be completely honest with themselves and price their frames fairly to include their demos and a situation like mine will never arise.
