I have never met such a remarkable company as Gaslight Heat Services. I applied in 2022 for the NRCan Greener Homes Grant to help retrofit my home with a new heat pump heating and cooling system. Conscious of the fact that I could and should do better for the environment, I had my home assessed for energy loss. I was quite taken aback about the energy wastage and in early 2024 decided to commit to a new heat pump. Jenn, the Office Manager at Gaslight Heat Services not only helped me to place my order but also ensured, on a daily basis that the Gaslight Heat Services team delivered the required equipment and services on time and on budget. Importantly, she helped me to coordinate the services of an independent electrician so that my heat pump would be properly installed and connected to my home electrical panel and grid. Jenn then assisted me to file the newly installed heat pump equipment with NRCan Greener Homes program and the BC Provincial Government in order to qualify for energy saving rebates. She then also arranged for an annual service and inspection and helped guide me through a 12-year extended warranty program. The customer service was simply outstanding, and it should be noted that the company owner himself undertook the initial home installation assessment. Gaslight Heat Services deserves a 5/5 gold star rating - and my 50 year old home in Oak Bay now has a new lease on life, one that will help provide a cleaner and better environment for all our grandchildren. We approached several companies for quotes and follow-ups to get a heat pump installed in our house. We settled on Gaslight Heating Services initially for their amazing communication. Jenn had endless time to talk about the systems, how they worked and what the options were. Every step was explained. When it came time for the install, they had to work out problems with getting the unit into place. The workers were on the phone with the owner for a while working out a plan that would move forward. In the end, the system was installed professionally. The ductwork that they put in place looks like it was always in the house. The system works exactly as it should. Importantly, we were impressed with the professionalism of every employee. The house was left clean and in order after each work shift. They were in constant communication, and we never felt out of the loop. They met the estimated price and definitely the expected quality. In an array of many heating companies, this Gaslight stands out. Because we live in a strata, it is important to say that they did everything they could to make certain that all concerns were addressed. We have been using this company for at least 20 years. We have never had a complaint and I am in charge of booking yearly visits for the 18 owners in the complex. Our last visit was on Aug 1st and our fireplace was declared good to go last weekend. it got cold and we needed a little bit of heat but couldn't get it going. I called the office and booked an appointment. This morning Tristan showed up on time and took less than 1 minute to figure it out. I just forgot the last step in the firing process. On December 14, 2022 I called **** ****** **** ******* ****** to clean and service my fireplace. The technician was friendly and I thought he was thorough. I asked about turning off the pilot light until I wanted to use the fireplace to save on propane. He said yes I could and wasn't told it would be difficult to turn it back on. I paid $199.00 plus tax. On or about December 16 & 17th (during the snow storm), I could not get the pilot light on and left several voice messages to see if they could come back to light the pilot light. They called me back at the end of December or first week of January 2023. They said they would come back if I paid them an additional $179.00 AND was told without a second look that I might have to pay for new parts or a fireplace. I tried negotiating on the side of "customer service". But, they would not consider such a concept. Frustrated, I called Gaslight Heat Services (GHS) and they came out to start my fireplace in less than 10 minutes and did not try to upsell me another unit or part. In addition, the Gaslight Heat Services' technician was surprised to see that my fireplace was not clean. When he pointed to the gravel and debris at the bottom of the fireplace noting it was not done thoroughly. In short: Great! Every time they said they would show up they did, which is something considering our interaction occurred when some operators didn't return calls, and a few showed up but never gave quotes. The office manager kept on top of the order shipment every step of the way and communicated regularly. Thanks Jenn! The installers were friendly and their work was professional and tidy. While it is early days with the units themselves already we notice that the house is warmer as the heat distribution is better with mini splits than our floor boards, and are much quieter. The acid test will be during a heat dome for A/C, but what I can say is that I am recommending Gaslight to good friends. Need I say more? First rate service. Oh, and their quote for all of this was more than 2K less expensive than the nearest quote.Review from Dominic

Gaslight Heat Services installed recently a Daikin ductless heat pump in our home - we could not have chosen a better company to do the installation - from initial contact to final installation, all was done and organized timely and professional - the team that did the installation mastered the challenge of a very low crawlspace commendably - the system and installation has exceeded our expectations on comfort, noise level and general esthetics - well done. Why five stars? Without going into the boring details of what I thought was a significant problem following servicing of my furnace, I found myself calling for help after hours on a Friday evening. I believed that a resolution of my problem would be unlikely before the long weekend would be over. However, I was pleasantly surprised to get a response to my plea for help and have the service man at my front door, all within the hour. Despite the service man having been called back after the end of his workday, he remained patient, courteous and efficient. He resolved everything and took the time to explain to me the mechanics behind what had happened. I recognized I had overreacted. Furthermore, I was not charged for the return service. This is one of the best companies that I have dealt with in a long time. Here are the reasons why: Great customer service: The receptionist took a real interest in making sure that my appointment was done as soon as possible and bumped us up twice to a better date. Excellent technician: The tech that came to our house was great. He was incredibly meticulous, courteous, and knowledgeable. He informed me of everything he did and showed me pictures of all his work. Honesty: The tech did not do anything that did not need to be done and when he realized the flaw was not related to the part he replaced he put the old part back on and took pictures of the problem which he fixed.
