I contacted Ascent Yard Care aka Innes Landscapes Ltd for quote to remove birch tree, prune roses, hydrangeas, shrubs, trim cedar hedge. Owner, **** ***** came, walked around with me to see what needed doing. He took photos. He supplied me with a quote on Feb 17/23 detailing work I requested. Namely, WO #1 ($1,200)remove birch tree, cleanup and hauling included; WO#2 ($350) Birch tree stump ground out so that a new tree can be planted, tree trunks left in the back yard, cleanup and hauling included; WO#3 ($500)Fall Clean up, Leaf clean up, Hydrangeas pruned, Roses pruned, Lavender pruned, Shrub and hedge trimmed, Clean up and hauling included. Two workers came on Mar. 16/23 removed birch tree, ground stump, left PART of tree trunk, removed dead blossoms from 2 hydrangeas, removed rose hips from 1 rose bush, trimmed cedar hedge, cleanup hauled away. As they were leaving I said roses (total of 9), hydrangeas (total of 6), lavender, myrtle, rosemary not pruned. Employee said he "didn't feel they needed pruning." And left. Contacted Mr. I. to say WO#3 not complete as agreed per quote. He apologized, offered to reschedule worker (who didn't feel pruning was necessary) to complete WO#3. Initially I said okay, but thought better - if worker didn't feel pruning was needed obviously not trained to prune. Owner offered $250 discount. I need 9 rose bushes, 6 hydrangeas, 1 myrtle, lavender, rosemary pruned, cleanup and haul away. What little was done for WO#3 isn't worth $250. I will be 79 yrs old this June, have arthritis and why I arranged for this work. I feel I've been taken advantage of. Twice I asked Owner to come back, see for himself what was not done. He declined. His cavalier attitude not to own up to incomplete work is unacceptable. For all the distress this has caused me I don't feel obligated to pay WO#3. I would happily pay $1200 today for tree removal providing it doesn't obligate me to pay WO#3. I have documentation and photos of work not done. Thank you
