It was very pretty on the surface, until we learned he hadn't taken out the proper permits and it was found that numerous items did not pass the resulting building code inspection. **************************** There is always two sides to a story. I did exactly what was asked. I built a beautiful cabin exactly the way Ted and Tracy wanted. Keep in mind this transaction happened in 2017. We built everything structurally to code as the plans were stamped by an engineer. We do not cut corners at Starkell homes. Ted the owner asked me proceed with the build without a permit. This was my first mistake. I wanted to please the customers so I did it. I made it very clear to Ted if I where to continue without a permit he would take full responsibility for permits and inspections. He responded that it's out in the middle of nowhere and it doesn't require inspections. I'm not sure what costed them 40k as they never confronted me with anything that needed to be repaired. The fact is the cabin is beautiful the products put into the cabin where high quality. The workmanship was top notch. We have had many compliments on it.
