*************** is probably the rudest*********************** person I have ever encountered in a business setting. I had purchased a parking pass, in order to use the University of Manitoba's gym but then received a ticket the next day (apparently the spot I had parked in was not covered by my parking pass). I spoke to the gym staff and they informed me about what spots were included in my parking pass but they also displayed empathy and thought calling parking services could help eradicate the ticket. Being a student (with an exam that same day and more in the coming weeks) I failed to promptly call the parking services but when I did, I never heard back. I called again and this led me to Ms.********. She was honest enough to see that this was a misunderstanding, but she aggressively held that any smart individual would've known that the whole gyms parking lot was only for casual parking and not subject to the parking pass. *************************************************************** *************************************************************** ************************************ this was clearly a misunderstanding and even if I am not eligible for cancellation, I should at least be spoken to as an individual. I hope you do better Ms.********.

The Office of Parking & Transportation has parking regulations in place, which all staff, students and visitors must abide by. The University of Manitoba Act, which is an act of legislature, empowers the University of Manitoba to govern parking on University property. This includes fees and charges for parking violations and actions taken for failure to pay fees and charges.

Parking & Transportation staff are happy to review any citation related inquires and provide a clear explanation as to why a citation has been issued and what can be done in future to alleviate receiving further citations. We have set rules regarding the circumstances in which we may void a parking citation, as well as how often a customer may have a citation reduced to a warning. Unfortunately, we cannot discuss an individual's parking experience as we are bound by privacy.

All University of Manitoba parking permit holders are explained the parking rules and the details of their permit at the point of purchase. While we are disappointed to hear that this customer felt like we provided a poor customer service experience, we stand behind our policies and do not feel as though this customer was mistreated in any way.
