I bought a car from this dealership, the dealer specifically named *****, the ad had stated “Inspected until July 2024!” When I went to register the car in PEI, he told me the car wasnt “as inspected” and he should’ve ripped the sticker off. I had two people with me when purchase this car who know it was supposed to be inspected or I wouldn’t of even looked at the car. Since I have left, the car has had no steering within the first 4 hours of driving and then no brakes, and needing a gas tank replaced. All within a month. And I have to get it reinspected after telling me all I needed was the permit from the dealer to get it registered into my name and I even paid the taxes right to him. After already purchasing the car he states he was selling it “as is” and not inspected but the ad said inspected until July 2024, otherwise I wouldn’t of looked at a car that wasn’t completely legal or needing a bunch of work, especially from a dealer. The lady at the DMV said that if he didn’t have the inspection slip with that sticker, since he is a licensed dealer he should’ve taken the sticker off or put a new one on with a new inspection slip. If he wasn’t selling it as inspected then why would the sticker be on. He mislead me into buying this car and i paid 2600$ for it and i haven’t been able to drive it and it was clearly not even safe to leave the lot. There was sealant over the gas tank which made it look like it was known about the rotted gas tank, and the brake lines were able to be snapped in half. And I had no steering within the first four hours. Obviously the car wasn’t inspected. He bought the car from an auction and said he didn’t want to get into rocker panel work but otherwise it was a good driving car with new summer tires and inspected until July 2024. If I had a year to get the rocker panels done it would’ve been a good car but I haven’t been able to drive it or get it legal.Business response

vehicle was purchased at TGNA ( the great northern auction) with a MVI (inspection) on the windhseild , i brought the vehicle to my shop and had my mechanic look it over and we found that the rocker panels were not worth fixing so we sold the car AS IS WHERE IS , the auction sold us the car with that same MVI on the vehicle , i have contacted the auction many times to ask them if i need to remove an MVI if i am selling a car AS IS and they are still not able to give me a straight answer , the customer was notified many many times that the car was being sold AS IS , and she even had other men with her to inspect the vehicle before it was purchased. i made sure to tell the customer many times that the vehicle needed work and now almost 3 months later she is complaining that the vehicle needs work... it is a 2000$ car there is not one car under 5000$ that does not need work as we mentioned to her many times before she purchased it AS IS .

I am rejecting this response because:
He said the car was as is but inspected. Also buying from a licensed a dealership and being a licensed dealer, he should know that if he doesn’t have the slip for the inspection of a car and I mean any car from an auction to a random vehicle on the side of the road for that matter, and if you do not have this slip when the time comes of selling the vehicle, the inspection sticker most be removed. I bought this car in good faith knowing that I would have a substantial amount of time to drive this car as is being inspected, witch was part of the deal that we discussed. He did not say anything about not being able to find a car under 5 grand that didn’t need work. In this case I payed “$2600.00 taxes in” , and on the bill of sale he put “$1200.00 taxes in”, if this isn’t some situation of fraud or not selling in good faith what is? This car on the first day , the power steering line blow , into the following week the two rear break lines blow from being so badly corroded, that same week the fuel tank was leaking in multiple areas because the seal was completely a-rotated and could no longer hold fuel not to mention there were rotten spot all throughout the bottom of the tank. I barely drove this car since I bought it in good faith, the reason for that is because of all of the rotten areas throughout the car restricted me from driving. I I bought this car in this car in the middle of May and had problems with it ever since . I would appreciate some support on these matters and would like a refund for this vehicle.
