I got my 2021 *** ****** ** brand new with ****, I also got a free tank of gas I used within a week after that I didn’t have much money for gas so I put 10$ in my empty tank, it wasn’t much but it was enough to turn the empty light off and show me that I had 70km left on my dashboard. 8 months ago during the winter I was low again on gas and the empty light turned on, I went to ****** to pump 20$ Into my car but when I turned it on it still showed me that I had only 42km left, the same mileage I had before pumping the gas. It stayed the same after I pumped the gas. I went to Kia to get my car serviced they said that it was a sensor problem, 4 months later they got the new part for the service they installed it 2 months later. I had a 1/4 tank roughly 70-120km when I went in to have it serviced. and I had a bit less after so I went to pump some more gas because the empty light was on again, I pumped 10$ to see if the problem was solved, but it still showed me that I had the same amount of kilometres available on the dashboard after putting more gas in. it wouldn’t show any movement so I went back to Kia the same day and explained that the problem is still happening they said everything was fine and I should just pump more gas into my car to solve the problem temporarily basically brushing it off, my car has 28000km its brand new and I pay a lot of money for this car it shouldn’t have a problem but it keeps having the same problem and no one is solving it. I can pump more gas in the car to solve the problem temporarily but why should I if I only have 5$ For gas then be it but the car is supposed to do what it’s supposed to do and show me how many kilometres I have left on the car AFTER I leave the gas station it shouldn’t stay the sameBusiness response

Tell us why here...Customer purchased a 2021 Kia Forte 5, 2.0 L engine, June 17th, 2021, Serial# *****************, which was filled at time of deliver. Customer brought his vehicle in February 16th, 2022 with a concern of the litres on the fuel gauge not changing when adding fuel. Our tech verified the concern and removed fuel pump to access and put a variable resistor in the circuit to test circuit. Fuel gauge and range worked on the cluster as designed. Therefore based on the information provided by the customer, we ordered a fuel tank sending unit. On August 03rd, 2022 the customer returned to have the sending unit replaced. The sending unit was replaced and the customer picked up the vehicle. Shortly after the customer contacted myself and informed that DTE (distance to empty) display was not showing any reading after adding $10.00 of fuel. I explained to the customer by adding 4 to 5 litres of fuel he may not show any reading on the DTE display. The DTE display will only display amounts over 30 to 40 kilometers and also how much fuel was in the fuel tank when fuel was added. When the low fuel light illuminates you have approximately 10% of the 53 litre fuel tank as a reserve. Based on National Resources Canada 2021 Fuel Consumption Guide the customer’s vehicle have a rating of 7.1 L/100 km City/Highway , but many things can affect this consumption rating (ex. Idling, speed, road conditions, acceleration, etc.). Based on adding $10.00 which is 4 to 5 litres of fuel which would be about 64 kilometers of fuel. On August 17th, 2022 while speaking to customer I suggested for him to come back and I would take his vehicle and add $25.00 of fuel, which I did and both the fuel gauge and DTE worked correctly. I advised the customer if he want these components to work correctly he must add more fuelCustomer response

Hello I shared two photos one of my dashboard showing that my electronic Km aren’t correctly estimated even if the needle is showing that I have some gas. I pumped 9 litters into the tank but it didnt reset km available and only moved the needle slowly after 15-20 min of me driving if you look at both photos they’re only a couple minutes apart one before a gas station and one is afterI pumped more gas yes but the problem is still there it happens every time I’m getting close to 53km so I add another 5-7 L and it still doesn’t show any changes on the dashboardInitial Complaint

My 2021 Kia K5 is unsafe to drive due to an unknown steering issue. Column and shaft were replaced under warranty. Problem has reappeared, causing unsafe driving conditions. Kia Moncton isn’t taking my complaint seriously. Booked an appointment with service for May 3rd, over 2 weeks ago. I called today to confirm time, and they no record of my appointment. They have once again said, that they will get to it when they can, knowing the car is unsafe, and is the only mode of transportation for my family. Honor my appointment time, and fix the issue that should’ve been addressed the first time.Business response

When the customer was in we were extremely short staff due to Covid and the attendant at the service counter forgot to log his appointment, I am quite certain that we still kept the appointment with the customer to address the concern.Customer response
