      I contracted Benoit in July/2018 (Invoice 24924) to install 6 exterior lights on my home. Due to the high cost of my bill I never used them again for any further work (thankfully). Recently I had a contractor (**** **** ***********) needing to remove 2 of the lights to repair a wall. He called me over to show me that they were not installed correctly (see photos). No metal box installed with the wires coming directly through wood and not even grounded! Yet I was charged $180. for materials when none were even used. I then had to call another ********ian (******* ********) to come and redo all the lights that Benoit was supposed to complete properly. ***** (*******) informed me not 1 of the lights was installed correctly or met safety standard codes. I emailed the information and photos to Benoit on Dec 29/2022. After 2 weeks with no response, I called them on January 10th/2023. I was told by ****** she did receive my email and needed to look into it still. Not sure what more needs to be done since I have provided them all the information/proof of what occurred with contacts from contractor and ********ian that discovered their unprofessional and illegal acts. Someone just had to make a judgement call to take responsibility for the actions of their employees and initiate the deserved refund. I assumed they were hoping I would have let the matter go if they ignored me. But I hoped my call would show I was serious about this issue, so I left it with her to address. It has now been over a week more and still no response from them. Personally as a business owner with integrity myself, I most certainly would have addressed such a serious complaint immediately! I am expecting a full refund for this work that was not completed correctly/safely since I had to pay again to have them done correctly.

      Hi ******,

      I heard your complaint and pulled your paperwork.  I/we have not been ignoring you and did not think you would go away.  I think everyone would agree that it is good practice to look into every complaint and being a business owner yourself I think you would do the same.  According to the invoice, #24924, we only installed 3 exterior not 6 as you stated.  We installed octagon boxes for the 3 fixtures we installed because that is required.  It has been 4 years, did we install the fixtures in question?  That is what needs to be determined.  I think a site visit is required to determine if we had anything to do with the fixtures in question. 

      We install outside fixtures all the time and do not cut corners, if a box needs to be installed, it's installed, as indicated on the invoice.

       I am rejecting this response because:

      There were 3 sets of 2 lights installed (total of 6).

      As shown in photos I sent there was no boxes installed nor were they grounded. Also can be confirmed by the contractor who removed them and 1st noticed it as well as the ********ian I used to fix Benoit errors if you believe I have nothing better to do but make up complaints.

      There is no point of doing onsite inspection now that they have been fixed.

      The photos and testimony of 2 impartial trades that can verify these errors should be enough evidence for you to decide if you will accept responsibility or not.
