      I had the absolute worst experience with Hollis Ford. I purchased a brand new vehicle from them which went up on a safety recall rendering my vehicle undrivable. Hollis Ford would not provide me with a rental vehicle and took 4 months to fix the recall. They left me for 4 months with no vehicle!

      We understand your frustration with your recall. Recalls are mandated by the federal government to the manufacturer and manufacturers are obligated to remedy any recalls. The manufacturers occasionally have supply problems with the availability of associated parts required to complete a recall and they do not supply alternative transportation assistance. We are sorry for the inconvenience but unfortunately, it was out of our hands.

      Yes that’s the same empty response full of lies and misconceptions I’ve always got from Hollis. First of all, as confirmed by Ford Canada, it is very commonplace for dealers to provide alternate transportation during repairs and recalls. Many many recalls do not directly affect safety, but when they do, a higher standard must be maintained. Secondly, “occasional” supply chain issues with recalls are not the case. They are very common and pervasive with Ford. “Supply chain issues” aren’t an excuse for poor business decisions. These parts could be made or stored within North America instead of blaming customers for your poor product and service. Thirdly, the “manufacturer” you speak of is Ford. The first thing that dealerships must understand is the customer sees absolutely zero difference between Hollis Ford and Ford Canada. If you want to sell and profit off of sub-par products you better be willing to stand behind your manufacturer.

      I would absolutely recommend against using the Hollis Ford Dealership for the purchase or maintenance of your next vehicle. They operate in bad faith, give false information (I suspect on purpose), and won't do the right thing to correct their mistakes. I had an offer written and communicated to me via email by one of their salesmen ****. This offer was inclusive of all taxes, fees and transfers. We had agreed on the price and I put a deposit down on the vehicle ($500) because it was in transit to the dealership. Over the course of the next two months, I communicated with **** via email and he called me Friday to let me know the car was in. I came to get it on Tuesday and by this time the car had magically increased in price by $3,000.00. I drove 4 hours roundtrip to pick this vehicle up and at no point was I ever told that the price was changed or that there was even a possibility that it could change (despite there being ample opportunity to communicate as much). They refused to honour the original price that was clearly communicated by email and offered only to bridge the gap by $1k (after I fought with them to do it). We've got lots of family in Truro and will be telling them to warn folks about doing business with this dealership - that has no problem operating and doing business in bad faith. The money, while plenty enough to care about, was not worth cancelling on the car we waited months for and I believe they used that as leverage to take advantage of me.
