Company that did main bathroom reno did not follow industry standards in installing new bathtub & toilet, promised to build custom niche that looks unprofessional & contracted to do floor work that caused damage to expensive, engineered hardwood floor. Space between the toilet & bathtub was not measured properly, was just 6 cm. Industry standards recommend at least 11-15 cm. Niche cut & put together like patchwork, uneven, not flush. Told contractor at time. Did not fix. Threshold between bathroom floor & hallway poorly sealed. Grout coming off with movement of floor creating gap & making hardwood less stable. Asked for proper threshold. Request denied. Company agreed, in contract & total price, to remove sliding door in solarium along with floor tracks & finish & repair hardwood floor to cover gaps left by removing floor tracks & by placing a suitable threshold. They chose a marble threshold. *************************** Threshold left uneven. Caulking seal between floor & marble did not hold. Floor lifted at the seal over a period of months & moves when you step on it. There is a gap between floor & threshold. ********************************************************************************************* Reno was done Sept 2020. There is a 2 yr installation warranty. Dec 2021, contacted them. After several tries, co-owner who did the work came to look at our concerns in Jan 2022. Promised to get back with options/solutions. Never did. Spoke to another owner in early March 2022. ************************* told us they would do nothing for us, that we are unreasonable customers who should have paid them more for the work. We paid exactly what they asked for and they promised quality work. We believe they are responsible to provide a proper niche (or the equivalent in cost) so we can fix it with another contractor of our choice. We want floor issue/damage to be repaired by experts at their expense. ***********************************
