I went into World gym a couple of months back. I asked to have my account frozen until I can return in May.The staff member behind the counter encouraged this instead of cancelling my membership. I signed paperwork and collected a signed copy of my paperwork. They placed notes on my file which was later confirmed by Mike that my account will be frozen until May of 2024 and I will not have to pay again until then. Fast foward to December, they took another payment. I called World Gym and a staff member said they would have someone contact me. Two weeks ago I had a staff member named Mike who stated he was acting on behalf of Management. He apologized and did look through my account and told me they would return my December payment and would go back three months and refund me. I spoke with Mike on Thursday last week and he stated payroll had issues and to look out for payment through the weekend. I called Tuesday and Tuesday Dec 26th to make another complaint but Mike was not in. Mike contacted me the next day and said he was going to see what he could do. I told Mike that they had until the end of the week and then I will be contacting BBB to get my refund. At this point I want my entire account cancelled and my refund. I will not be wanting to deal with World Gym after this. I am now worried they will continue charging me and not following the contract that was signed. Please help me thank you

I’ve been dealing with this company charging me for over five years now. I cancelled my gym membership with them five years ago. They continued to charge me. I then called back and they said they would fix it and it was an error on there part. That was within the first few months of cancelling. They still continued to charge me so I had my credit card block payment to them. I called again and they said they would fix it but there are new managers and they were changing a bunch of stuff in the systems. Yet again they never changed it. I emailed over the years and called. Over the phone they said a manager would call me back. Zero of my emails were responded too. ***** ***** ****** ** ***** ********* ****** ***, I have to file a complaint. The manager Josh just told me it’s not is issue and if I won’t pay $1700 they will just send it to collections. **** ******* *** **** ******* ****** **** *** **** ***** *** **** ************ ** * **** ********* **** *** ** *****  I want my bill 100% zeroed *** *** ***** **** *** ** **** ** **** ******* ** ** ****. This issue has been going on for so long that I only have the unanswered emails over the years. They have some records with notes of times I’ve called but are not releasing the original notes of me cancelling and them admitted system issues.

November 7, 2022 World Gym sent out legal notice (LCMC issued) that I owed $406.03. My account was put on hold during Covid shutdowns 2020. I requested my account be cancelled as the Covid protocols were confusing and did not hear back. I contacted the gym through their email service requesting an end to my membership but did not receive any response (gym was closed on and off during Covid). No payments were taken from my account during 2020-2022. I called the gym to make sure my membership was cancelled in 2021 and was told with Covid uncertainties nobody will be charged until they reactivate their paused accounts. I never went to the gym to reactivate my account. The first correspondence from them in two years is through a legal representative and staff never made any attempts to connect or respond to my email inquiry.
