On October 7, 2023, I dropped off my barrel to J & J Shipping & Freight AKA Carib Shipping. **** ** ** ***** **** *** **** **** ***** ******** **** ***** **** *** **** *********** **** ** *** ***** ******* **** **** ***** ***** The barrel was being shipped to Trinidad. J & J Shipping & Freight sent an email that my barrel will arrive Nov 15 - Nov 25th, 2023. A few weeks ago, I contacted J & J Shipping & Freight for an update. After several texts, I received a response to reach out to the broker in Trinidad as it is out of their hands. After several calls/emails to Trinidad, I received an email advising there is no record of my barrel. I was asked to contact J & J Shipping & Freight to find out which of the three containers that just arrived has my barrel. I have not received a response. I received a subsequent email from the broker in Trinidad that ETA is Dec 23, 2023 with no guarantees. *** ****** *** ******* *** ****** ** ** ****** ********* ***** ** *** ***** *** **** *** ********* ** *** ****** *** ****** ** *** ****** **** * * * ******** * ******** The broker in Trinidad sent an email advising that J & J Shipping & Freight handed over the barrel to their agent, ******* ********* ******* *****, however, they have no information as to when J & J Shipping & Freight handed over the barrel to their agent and that I should reach out to J & J Shipping & Freight. J & J Shipping & Freight is not responding to any of my emails. * **** ***** ******* *** * **** **** *** ******* ******* **** **** ************  I understand there will be some delay but a barrel should not take 12 weeks to arrive in Trinidad. I shipped a barrel with another company around the same time last year. Yes, there was a delay but it was within reason. My conclusion is that J & J Shipping & Freight did not fulfill their our contractual obligation and handed over my barrel to ******* ********* ******* ***** late. J & J Shipping & Freight was paid on October 10th, 2023.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

All I need to know is WHEN the business handed over my shipment to the Freight company. Why can't they provide this information?

They provided a reasonable ETA. A barrel generally takes 4 to 6 weeks, max 8 weeks to arrive in the Caribbean no matter the time of the year and sea conditions.

      **** ******** ***** ************* *** **** ******* ******* *** *****

I shipped to the same country last year November and the barrel reached after the holidays due to a back log. That was a reasonable delay.

This business is not responding to my emails and reason I reached out to BBB.

The broker in Trinidad asked me to reach out to the business to find out when they handed over the shipment to their agent. They are pretty much saying the delay is because of JJ shipping/Carib. They have also stopped responding to my emails.

      Hello ******

Unfortunately you couldn't have picked up the barrel due to the fact all cargo was loaded at the port of Nova Scotia, Halifax

Also, we shall advise our agent to give your barrel priority.

J & J Shipping promised to have his Trinidad associate put my barrel on a priority list to be cleared. I received an email 2 weeks ago from the company in Trinidad that the barrel arrived however they do not know when the container will be unwrapped. When it does, they will contact the receiver. This morning, I sent J & J Shipment and the Trincargo an email without a response. I went to Trinidad and returned and the barrel is still sitting some where, lost or stolen. At this time, I would like J & J Shipment to reimburse me for the shipping charge and the contents of the barrel. The barrel was picked up Oct 7 by J & J Shipment. **** **** *** ***** ** ******* *********** * ****** ****** *** **** * ****** ** ** ********* ** *** ********** As per my previous complaint, I'm aware that J & J Shipment had the barrel in their possession for a few weeks before it was picked up/delivered to *********'s freight company who kept it for another few weeks before it was shipped to Trinidad. J & J Shipment always quotes the terms and condition of the shipment. Waiting to be unwrapped should not be considered "a normal delay".

I arrange with the company (jj shipping) on Nov 13th to pick up a crate/ barrel to be shipped over seas. They came to my house on Nov 13th for pick up and based off the invoice ETA to Montego bay Jamaica will be Dec 24th. I contacted JJ shipping and i was told there is a delay until Jan 6. On Jan 20th i called jj shipping and was made aware by JJ shipping that they shipped my Crate. barrel to the wrong location in Jamaica and they will rectify the issue asap. Its now Fed 2nd i have been calling/ emailing for an update & they are ignoring my calls/ emails.
