I have used Harb Plumbing a couple of times in the past and was satisfied with the work completed. In August the kitchen faucet they had supplied in October 2018 began to leak water onto the counter. On September 1st, I called and asked to have someone come out. At 3:51 PM two fellows arrived. Rocco P. (35 years of plumbing experience) and his apprentice Josh. In under ten minutes that had located the problem. The nut holding was so loose that he could twist it using his finger. The nut appeared to have loosened over the years. I felt fortunate because I would only be responsible for the "Service Call". The invoice has $38.00 or $39.00 printed on it. Josh scratched it out with a pen. In conversation Josh repeatedly mentioned $39. I was told that **** has a lifetime guarantee on the cartridge. Rocco called his supervisor who told him to replace the entire cartridge. Just to be safe, so that I would not incur charges for another "Service Call" ($39). Much to my surprise, "Just to be safe" I was charged $148.00 for labour. So $109.00 more than a "Service Call". The left at approximately 4:25 PM. They found the problem in under 10 minutes and could have tightened the nut and left immediately, but the supervisor insisted on replacing the cartridge without letting me know it was going to cost me an extra $109. I feel that I should have been charged $39 plus GST and not the $148 plus GST. I would like a refund for the difference.
