Ordered a new door for my deck entrance in June, installation was on Oct. 21, 2022. Linton workers removed the screen door and were asked if they could put it back on. I was told they could not do it without the company knowing about them doing it. (They knew it was going back on). When the new door was installed the 2 workers measured the outside dimensions wrong when they installed the exterior trim. Phoned Linton a couple of days later and asked if they could install my screen door. Received no return call. Called back again and told the woman who answered the phone that the exterior trim measurements were wrong, and I needed them to reinstall the screen door. I was told that if nobody else phoned me back that she would by end of day. Once again nobody called me back. They knew the measurements were wrong and instead of fixing their mistake they decided to just ignore me. Due to the weather changing I asked my brother if he would help me install the screen door before we had snow. Due to the wrong exterior measurements we had to improvise for a solution to modify the screen door trim in order for it to fit. The trim was cut on the top piece in order for the door to close. The side trim had to be screwed at the very edge of their exterior trim in order for the door to latch on to keep it closed. A piece of wood had to go in between the exterior trim and the screen door trim to prevent vermin and snow getting inside the door. The door latch had to be modified for the screen door to be latched closed. Overall, my $2700 door now looks like a fly-by-night company installed it instead of Linton, whom I know to have better company standards since they installed windows and a door for us in the past. I am asking for a 50% partial refund due to the inexperience of the workers who installed the door and exterior trim with wrong measurements and caused this problem for the screen door.Customer response

I heard from Linton yesterday. They apologized numerous times for the mix up of not receiving the complaint and replying in a timely manner. Today they dropped off a cheque for over the asking amount and a gift basket and apologized again for the mix up. Can you please close this complaint and write that the outcome was more than expected and very much appreciated.
