      I have/had been a customer of benecaid's for a number of years without issue but for my most recently submitted claim they denied the vast majority of my listed expenses due to their recent policy change that restricts payments based on the anniversary year of the customer/client agreement. Because of this I have closed/cancelled my account and I *also* requested the return of the original receipts that were submitted for this latest claim so that I could attempt to recover the costs from an alternative provider or submit for income-tax purposes. Although I was assured that I would receive these receipts as requested I have only received those related to my orthotics/chiropodist expenses and so there are a number of other receipts that are still outstanding -- totaling 218.27 by my calculations -- which need to be returned to me and I cannot get any further response from them regarding this. If the receipts cannot be returned for some reason then benecaid needs to re-imburse me for the amount of the lost receipts.

      Worst Insurance experience. I had called up Benecaid customer services to enquire about about the benefits and how HSA account worked about 10-15 days before submitting my claim as i had to make a medical purchase through insurance. They had informed me I had about $700 CAD in my HSA account which would help cover my expenses. I submitted my claim on Aug 25th, 2022 and an agent responded to the claim and confirmed to me by email that they are processing my claim and i will be receiving the insurance from my HSA account. After 2 weeks, I call-follow up on my claim as i haven't received my claim funds or any email update, only for the agent to say we dont see any funds and there is no money in my HSA account and there are no notes on file. Note, from the start, these reps say all calls are being monitored and recorded for quality purposes and everything is recorded. I'm confused and furious since there was an agent specifically who emailed me saying I WILL be receiving the insurance claim which was submitted. I called more than 4 times over the week, especially the lady who emailed me, and she would not transfer me to the supervisor. Took a month and half of begging to speak to the supervisor, after getting yelled at by the agent when i'm explaining her how this whole situation not my fault and to find a solution. if there were no funds in my HSA account, then how could the agent acknowledge the claim and send me an email in the first place? After speaking to the supervisor, she explains how the matter should have been dealt with earlier since I am correct and there were funds of $700 in my HSA account but now its missing. I told her, it took me 1 whole month of calling and being yelled at by the rep to reach the supervisor. The supervisor assured me I would get the funds but would take time. So basically, it was the reps fault and now the money is missing and its November 15th, 2022 and I still don't have any follow up calls or emails and haven't received the $700.
