They did a rear differential driveshaft seal on my 2018 F350. The next day the rear end pulled out of the housing and dropped the driveshaft on the highway about 45 minutes into ******** from the Sarnia border. Apparently the mechanic didn't tighten the primary bolt to hold it in. I contacted the dealership and advised them what happened and the SERVICE MANAGER OF BLUEWATER DEALERSHIP said to get it to them and they will take care of it. So I had to pay $400 to have it pulled off the highway and brought to a tow yard, and another $900 to have it towed from there back into Canada to the dealership. Now remember, THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TO DO THIS. After waiting a week and losing about $8000 in revenue as this is a company vehicle they finally got a used axle and it was rolling again. I am not angry at the mechanic, mistakes happen to the best mechanics. I wasn't even too upset I had to lose the $8000 in revenue for the week, once again mistakes happen. But after speaking to "higher up" at the dealership they said they would NOT reimburse my tow costs to get THEIR MISTAKE back to the dealership AFTER I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THERE TO DO EXACTLY THAT. His explanation was that "he" would have got it fixed in the USA instead of towing it there. I could care less who fixed it but I DID WHAT I WAS TOLD TO DO BY THE SERVICE MANAGER OF BLUEWATER DEALERSHIP! I don't expect them to reimburse me for lost wages, but I do expect them to reimburse me the fees it costs to get them the truck that they requested for their admitted mistake.
