We paid a deposit of to have our house connected to the sewer June 22, 2022, the work was not completed in an agreed time (July/August) and we were forced to get a refund in November. We received most of the refund, but $435 dollars was held back that was apparently used for a permit, so we requested the permit that we paid for. Kept following up, Feb, April - still not permit or additional refund.Business response

Good Morning:
The homeowner decided not to proceed with the sanitary sewer installation she contracted our company to perform on her behalf. After purchasing the permits, she decided she was not going to proceed with the work as requested. As per the conditions of our proposal, which she signed (proposal states, in the event that the job is cancelled, any preliminary expenses (i.e. material, service calls, private utility locates, permits, drawings, etc.) and any associated cancellation costs (i.e. restocking fees, etc.) will be chargeable), we deducted the cost of the permits only. She was refunded her deposit, less the actual cost of the permits. There was no administration fee, or processing fee, and we included a copy of the City of ******** receipt showing the total amount Wm. Groves Limited paid for the permits. This receipt clearly shows the date and the amount, as well as her address, leaving no doubt for the amount / location of the proposed work or our deduction. Copies of the permits will be provided to the homeowner, but as the costs were incurred, and the contract clearly states if the work was cancelled, the permits would be chargeable, no additional monies are due to the homeowner. Thank you.
