My spouse bought me a 150$ gift certificate for Avera spa on Oct 19th 2021. He was told I could go on the Website to book an apt. I tried several times over the next 8 weeks but the Website just kept saying No apt's available. I called the Spa and spoke with the owner, whom told me that they were closed due to renovations. When I asked when they would be complete and open for business, she said she had no idea as they were waiting on a permit. I said that I wanted a refund if she wouldn't take a booking for the foreseeable future and that my spouse wouldn't have bought the certificate there had he been told that they would be doing renovations and I wouldn't be able to use it anytime soon. The owner told me that she would not be giving me a refund for the certificate as Gift corticates don't expire so I would just have to wait until I was able to book an apt or that I could buy her products to use the value of the certificate. I had zero interest in buying expensive products since it was the spa services that certificate was bought for. I just went back on the Website today, the Spa is now closed due to Maternity leave. I believe we should get a full refund since they sold the certificate knowing that it couldn't' be used for Months and he would have bought me one somewhere else had this been disclosed.
