    In December 2021, I contacted Smith Army Surplus to order a particular parka. Through a series of telephone calls back and forth the staff found a parka and payment was made through a credit card. I had asked specifically for a size Large/Long. Unfortunately when the parka arrived with the mail, the parka was the wrong size. The label in the hood indicated Large/Long but the main body of the jacket was labelled R/L 6 for a Regular/Long. I contacted the store by phone to inform them of the error. Staff went on to justify sending me the wrong size by stating I needed an entirely different size. I wore a Large/Long for 11 years in the army and the same parka until it recently disappeared so I know I need a Large/Long. I returned the parka by mail. I then sent an email to the store showing a picture of the receipt for shipping costs and indicated that I felt this additional shipping cost should be reimbursed as I was sent the wrong size of parka. Then through a series of email exchanges the staff placed blame for this confusion on me. This is an unfortunate mistake but I asked for a Large/Long, the employee searched for a parka with a hood labelled as Large/Long but did not confirm that the parka itself was a Large/Long. Obviously the hood had been removed and placed on another jacket body. The store refunded the initial purchase but not the additional costs for me to return the parka ($33.05). I would not have returned the parka had I been sent the size that was requested. It is not an outrageous amount of money, however had a Large/Long arrived at my door I would not have had to pay the additional shipping for returning the item.
