    Background Facts: We paid for 3/4 of our pool up front before they even started digging. We were the second customer to sign on in April 2020 for an installation to start April 2021. From the very beginning of *** selling us on it takes two weeks to install a pool to it actually taking close to 5 weeks, where do I start?: (1) St. Lawrence tried to blame our own gas guy that we hired for a defective pool heater St. Lawrence delivered. They said our gas guy didn't hook it up right (whose been in the business for over 20+ years). We insisted our gas guy hooked it up correctly, who even had his supervisor come out to ensure. St. Lawrence's tech guy shows up for 3 hours in the shed to inspect heater and can't figure out the problem. Then another tech guy comes out and discovers the heater was defective to start with - it has broken wires in the bottom of the heater. (2) 1st day scheduled to dig never occurred because St. Lawrence couldn't get their hands on a machine. They had to rent one from an individual third party. Work began next day but bulldozer broke by noon - crew had to leave to go back to Kingston to get it fixed and so a half days' work never happened. (3) Crew worked on pool installation for 5 days straight, then didn't show up for the next 7 days - working on other peoples pools (even though we were second customer signed on in April 2020). (4) Construction workers left cigarette butts all over the backyard (even though we supplied refreshments for their hard work on the hot days). (5) Delivery of supplies were days late after being promised they would be there in time for our electrician to hook up timer. Ended up having to pay our electrician an extra days' work because he had to come back due to the parts not being delivered on time by St. Lawrence. (6) St. Lawrence hires third party stone masons for interlocking - they were amazing except their saw broke the first day. St. Lawrence asked their stone mason guys to make deliveries for them as well. (7) We were told by St. Lawrence on a same-days' notice that we should change from concrete decking to interlocking due to slope of land and possible cracks happening in the future. They said they needed our answer by end of day - extra $3,000. St. Lawrence has been in the business for how many years, and they didn't have the knowledge or experience to know perhaps we should go with interlocking sooner? (8) Interlocking shows up and is a batch of two different colours. Not enough of the colour I chose, and so I had to go with a different colour. (9) St. Lawrence charged $400 to re-sod but left screening all over the lawn and new grass won't grow in properly. They have not answered our inquiry on this to date. (10) Interior pool lights came late due to them being on back order (covid-related, we were told). (11) Our winter cover has been paid in full but we've been told it hasn't come in yet. We were explicity told by Chuck there wouldn't be a problem since covers are Canadian made, yet where are they? Not only can we not close our pool, but St. Lawrence now tells us there is an added cost for closing pool which cost was never disclosed to us in the first place. They have not answered our inquiry on this to date. (12) Overall lack of communication on the part of St. Lawrence. Does not return phone calls or emails. **** ***** is the only one we have been dealing with since pool was installed and the only one who actually returns our calls and comes out to assist. Still waiting on their reply after inquiring 2.5 weeks ago about when we can close the pool.
