I am sure I am not alone, the company ****** hasn’t been keeping up standards of repairs at their rentals, but recently myself and my spouse have been emailed from tribunals that we are being sued by them for owing rent we never should have been charged in the first place. We have some documents to show once our court stuff gets going, but we gave notice last year of leaving due to non upkeep of repairs, and after confirming move out date, continued to charge us rent without telling us (we were long gone afterwards moved into a new home, paying rent on time). There was an apparent court date set, but no papers were delivered or calls/emails made about the court date. I then just received an email from the tribunals today (February 14th) that ****** is suing us $7000 in rent that was dated four to five months AFTER our move out date. I called and confirmed with accounts receiving with ******, and the lady had told me she also sees a date of June 1st, but owing $7067.00 on the account. When asking who to contact, was told you cannot contact managers or anyone but the receptionist. It’s pretty shady a company from Toronto not being able to contact anyone to help with the issue, yet something this error was skipped and taken as far as court behind our families’ back to get not only an eviction on our credit, but a whopping $7000 charge for a coupled family going to school full-time and working part time any chance we get. I just feel I am not alone in this situation, and would love if someone could help bring it to light before this company screws another family over. We are just scraping by as it is, and this is something that could make someones life over before it can even begin.
