On January 7, I adopted a dog from 4 Lucky Paws Animal Rescue. I paid an adoption fee of $600. I was told the dog was well behaved. No other information about his behaviour or his history was given to me. 3 days later, he began displaying signs of aggression. On day 4, he bit me. I contacted ******* *******, director of 4 Lucky Paws and asked her to call me about the situation. She responded in text only through Facebook messenger. I explained the situation and told her I wanted to return the dog. She told me she had to find someone who would take the dog. The following day, I sent another message asking if she found anyone. I also typed out in detail what behaviours I found to be triggering the dog’s aggressive behaviours. She responded back telling me I could bring the dog back to his original foster parent the following day. On January 13, I returned the dog to his foster mother, who then told me that he had been returned at least once before; vital information that would have assisted in the decision to adopt this particular dog. The foster mom also speculated an issue with one of the dogs teeth, an issue that never got dealt with at the vet prior to adoption. I messaged ******* the same day that the dog was returned, asking about a refund. This message went unanswered. A second message inquiring about the refund was sent the following day, January 14. On January 16, ******* finally responded, stating she would send the money next week when she was back. It has been a full week. I sent a third message, this time through email, on January 26, again inquiring about my refund. Three messages all went unanswered. I phone call to the number listed also went unanswered.
