Over the spring and summer of 2021 we hired ***** Design and Build under contract to remove the roof of our one story ranch home on Viscount Road and add a second floor. ****** ********* is the owner of Anden, we worked primarily with **** ****** the head contractor (of 10 years) for Anden. Ryan Romick owned 10% of ***** Design and Build (this is important later). Upon finishing the renovation, one of the deficiencies noted was that all 6 of the new ****** slider windows. ****** fired his General Contract just as our job was finishing. First ****** ********* (owner) blamed ****** saying the windows were not manufactured well. When ****** and ***** met onsite to review, ****** said the windows were not installed correctly. ***** refused to pull the trim off to prove that was the case. They showed up to offer a half assed repair job, it didn't work. ****** corresponded in December of 2022 to say "***** installed code approved windows from a reputable manufacturer as per that manufacturer’s installation instructions." ****** continued to blame Gentek, saying : "***** does not believe that a better “fit” is available for this ****** side slider style of window through manipulation of the rough stud opening or further shimming of the window frame. This would be outside of manufacturer instructions and cause the window to “stick” as it slides across the frame." ***** was essentially saying, this is how these windows are supposed to be, they are supposed to have gaps between the sash and the frame. We know that is bullshit, windows should not be like that. At the end of the day, ****** ********* dragged his heels long enough to delay having to fix his mistake. Now he is saying that ***** has closed down and leaves us with little recourse. Over the course of the past year and a half, ***** only attempted to remedy two of the windows, just last week they informed me they would no longer help.
