On July 2020 I hired Accell Roofing to replace my dry roof without any leaks. It was completed that summer and from then on until now I have experienced many problems with the new roof. Once completed I had to call them back as they had left a terrible mess all over the back deck including nails, combs and socks. As the fall rains began I started noticing puddles in my garage floor. I called the roofer back and they returned and attempted to fix the problem. I had to call them back at least 3 times for the problem to be correctly repaired. they said that if it continued they would have to replace the flashing towards the back of the house as well as he one they corrected in the front. They did not attempt to repair the problem in the attic caused by the leak in the roof. I then noticed my drywall in my family room ceiling looking like it was bubbled. I called them back again and they once again repaired the rest of the flashing. I requested that they repair the drywall in the house and they agreed at first, then they said no due o the problem being my siding was the actual problem not heir roof. we then had another roofer come by the house to see if he can tell us what was actually wrong and he said that it was 100% the step flashing wasn't installed properly. he also sent me photos to prove it was the roofers mistake and not the siding. if it was the siding I would have signs of leaks in my home. Accell is saying they removed plywood from the home in that area, however he cannot prove that the plywood was rotted he never sent me any photos of it and it is the natural thing to do when replacing roofs to replace any wood that might have started to rot. At this time I have had too get the drywall in the garage replaced as well as the drywall in the home repaired and painted I believe the fault lies with Accell and the reason this claim is over a year is because it has been ongoing since the roof was replaced. ******************************************************Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2021/11/18) */ Accell Roofing Inc. opened for business in 1991 and has operated continuously to this date. I have 5 years previous roofing experience to starting Accell for a total of 35 years of expertise. My company has grown by providing excellent service both during and after installation. We have a solid record of five star reviews form our clients. We have an excellent reputation in the community for our charity work and sponsorship of local children's sports teams. We have been members in good standing with the Better Business Bureau from 1993 to present. We are members of the ************************** and have been a platinum level certified installer for the shingle manufacturer ********* for more than 20 years. The leak issue with Mrs. ******* house are related to water entering through the siding due to the plugged downspout located at the roof transition from upper to lower at the siding corner post. At the time of my last inspection the down pipes were plugged with leaves and the water from the entire top roof was being forced into the area of the corner post (siding) through the seam in the elbows. I identified this issue during a heavy rainfall and took steps to mitigate free of charge. This is not a roofing failure. I had the downpipe been clear this area would not have had water penetration and would have functioned properly. It is not our responsibility to do this maintenance for Mrs. ******** nor is it our responsibility to repair any resulting damage because this maintenance is not being done. I have taken video and photos of the cause of the leak during a heavy rainfall and submitted this to Mrs. ********. She is choosing to ignore this. I consider the repairs we made to the siding to be billable to Mrs. ********. When I initially met Mrs. ******** for a roof inspection, I found her roof shingles in an advanced state of failure. During the roof installation we found several sheets of plywood had to be replaced due to rot. Water stains were also noticed on the garage rafter boards. I believe this roof had been leaking for some time before I delivered the quote. My understanding is the leakage from the siding has stopped due to our efforts and I consider the matter resolved. I would ask Mrs. ******** to move on from this as well as I am sure we all have better things to do. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2021/11/19) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The last response from Accell Roofing is made of false truths. The point of the matter remains that I had a perfectly functioning roof when I decided to be proactive and get a new one. what a mistake that was. After I had my roof replaced I started having leaks along the flashing. He is refusing to correct the damage that has been done to my home and now I have to pay someone to correct his mistakes. I had 3 quotes completed before replacing the roof and not on any of them would you find that I had a leak in my roof. As mentioned before his crew did a horrible job of replacing my roof and now he wont take any responsibility to repair the mess. His employee did say that they would make the repairs and now he is refusing to ************************************************************************************. He doesn't want to repair the mess his employees made because it isn't his field of work and the money would come out of his pocket. He came to my house at least 10 times finding and correcting the problem. If it wasn't his mistake I would have had water damage already in my home and especially in my garage. when he went upstairs to the attic he did confirm that it was wet which means it was a recent leak not an older one. The roofer we had come over and take a look is actually a peer of Accel and didn't want his name used because of that but clearly he took one look at the flashing and said exactly what the problem was on this and my honesty alone he should have to pay for the repairs. There were no leaks in the roof and I can prove this because I actually wanted to wait until spring to replace it but he said that the prices would go up so I thought I might as well get it replaced and save a few dollars. My truth remains my home was dry until the roof was replaced and now I have water damage in two rooms of my home. Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2021/11/24) */ I have stated my position and have nothing more to say. Business Response /* (4000, 16, 2021/12/08) */ Mrs. ********, I witnessed the water entering the building through the siding via a blocked downspout. I took a Video of this and sent it to you with a detailed explanation of what was happening. You continue to ignore this. My position that Accell Roofing Inc. Is not responsible for any damage has not changed. I would like to wish you and your family a safe and happy Holiday season. Kind Regards, **********
