I ordered an outdoor chair and sectional from *** that was advertised on ******** ***********. I inquired about price, date of completion and specific details about the made to order product. *** informed me it would be 4-5 weeks, 1050$ and 50% is due to start the project. I sent *** 525$ via e-transfer June 20th, 2023. On July 17, I messaged *** to see when the product would be ready for pick up. He replied july 21st, saying it would be another week or two. I then checked his reviews on ******** and to my surprise they were mostly negative for price, communication and completing product in a timely manor. I sent *** another message july 30th, with no reply and another on July 31st explaining that I didn’t feel comfortable that there was no communication or clarity on my product timeline of completion. He then responded it would be another week or two. I explained I was unhappy with the constant “another week or two” and he said he would return my refund, asking me for my email. As a result, he has taken down the original ******** marketplace post, blocked me on ******** and won’t reply to my emails, messages on ********* or ********. He has not returned my deposit, or completed the ordered product. But has kept my money. He is violating his written agreement of completing my order in the 4-5 weeks and has kept my deposit, which is not right. I tried sending him a message saying if he could give me a solid completion date to not go past then I’d be ok to continue and have him build the product but he blocked me.Initial Complaint

I first contacted *** via ******** marketplace and after looking at his project page on ******** in October 2022. I commissioned him to complete two side tables for me and he has given me a 3 week completion and pick up date. On Oct 30, I have sent him a deposit for half of our agreed upon pricing. Nov 8, I messaged him, he had confirmed that he is good to complete two weeks from Nov 8. Nov 27, I messaged him for update for pick up, he said he has not finished yet and asked for extension. We agreed for new date for Dec 20-21. Dec 4, I messaged to ask if I could cancel the one table order. He said it was fine as he had not started yet. I was really shocked that he hasn't given this was commissioned back in October. But I just left him be, as promised that he would have the bigger table ready by Dec 20-21. I messaged him again on Dec 19 however the table is not complete yet. And because it was heading into the holidays, I was kind enough to respect that he would need to take time off with his family. We had agreed that by Jan 25, if he has not completed the table he would refund me my full deposit. He said that he has surgery on Jan 6, but he should have the table ready and delivered to me by Jan 11. I did not rush him as he said he is having a surgery and I would like him to take time to recover as well so we extended the due date for Jan 25. I messaged him again on Jan 22 to follow up and he tells me that he would need another week. At that point, I am just fully frustrated and said 'no' as I have given him multiple extensions. As agreed upon, I requested to have my money back. He did not respond with words but "liked" my request instead. I have left him followup messages by email/messenger and phone calls as well. I still have not received any response or acknowledgement from him and I have not received my money back.Business response

I ordered outdoor furniture from this business back in April , 22, I was informed that would take 6 to 8 weeks , depending how busy he was , he wouldn’t start on the order until he had half the amount in his hand , I transferred 525.00 to him , at end of May 22 I reached out to him , he said business very busy and give him 2 more weeks , 2 weeks later contact him and was informed 2 more week and will be done , once again I reached out to him and said that he was in the hospital, I said that he could’ve text me and he said that he was in the how could text ( I know you can text when your in hospital, it’s allowed, if he was he could’ve informed of this , I then said I want to see the progress and that when he told me he hadn’t started it yet , I was livid, he then said he’s not tech savvy and doesn’t have time for being on the phone, I then decided to leave him and see if anyone has gotten any furniture from him and talk to them, I found someone and found out that he does live in London and she order hers back and May and got hers in July , I was very disappointed in Ron , I waited a month and decided to reach out to him again , he didn’t respond to my message, I said to him may you please respond to me , he did after 11 days and informed once again he will have it ready Aug 20, on Aug 19 I contact him for him to give his address since I muscle power to help me , no response at all , that Sat I contacted him and told him that I was done and wanted my deposit due to he didn’t hold his end , he then said he had death in the family, (you would think running a business and know there pick up on the Sat I would been notified) I don’t believe anything he said to me, he then said he would have ready August 27, 22 , I did I was done and wanted my money , he said he transferred on Mon Aug 22, 22, that day has come and gone and no money , he is aware that I was going to reach BBB, I have all text between us if needed , his email address is [email protected] FatimaBusiness response

Good morning. I had full intent to build the furniture and fulfill the order however there was some delays with materials and health issues as was communicated to them. I was communicating with them but they kept calling and texting and harassing me so I had to put the phone on do not disturb. I have a life outside of my business and work hours and feel it is disrespectful to not honor that. I still have customers from last year that I owe furniture to and they are okay with it because they know I will deliver. Try building a house or buying a car these days! It also clearly states the deposit is "non-refundable" in my ads so hence why I'm hesitant to return only because they can't wait. If they think I'm scamming them, it goes both ways hence why I have the deposit so this very example doesn't happen. Again, if you buy a car you submit a deposit. If there are delays and you decide to back out, you lose your deposit. I was trying to be nice and reasonable with them however they have forced my hand. Again, I have no issues building it, but they need to wait like everyone else.

Hello, I read his statement and not once did he say that he was building a house or buying a car , he should be dealing with his orders since he has outstanding ones from last year, also please remind him I do have all our messages, also tell him that I am aware of lady he build furniture for placed a order back in May and got hers in July and I placed mine in April and was to take 6 to 8 weeks and nothing , he keep telling me 2 more weeks and delay it and he would have ready , I finally got feed up with it and cancel my order , he then said I will have it ready that follow sat , I said I was done , he broke the contact and I wanted my money , I have all this in text with him and he then said he sent e-transfer to me and was scheduled for the following Monday , I never got my money
