      Work agreed to:
Extend driveway with interlocking brick. Price agreed to: $3500 for materials + $1400 in labour to finish the job. 3 days total. I paid everything he claimed I owed him.

My complaint: Joshua refused to fix a leveling issue with the interlocking bricks and abandoned his work. He never finished the work. **** *********

I had commented that the bricks were not level and he disagreed.
      * **** ***** ** ********** *** ***** ************ ***** ************* *** **** **** ****** **** *** **** *** *** **** ********. Joshua needed to dig deeper, use the proper sand and other supplies to ensure the bricks would not move.

      *** ******** *** **** ************ *** ******** ** *** ***** I also have video of the work if you need it.

i was supposed to go and fix this but at the time **** had already owed me $700 from 2 weeks prior she was holding unfortunately. once i received my money i decided i can no longer trust her to pay me for the next day it would take to finish it. **** also wanted it all finished the same day which would be impossible to complete which i told her. unfortunately this whole situation was left with me being unable to return due to lack of trust. i can not go and work for free unfortunately and **** wanted me to do this. the job looks fantastic ******** **** ** ********. she just wouldnt co-operate and be willing to be polite and unfortunately that is not ok. **** is also fully aware that all the materials she bought are non refundable and cant be takes back they have already been installed. what she is asking for wpuld cost her about $700 to do now and she will not pay it so i can not go to finish this unfortunately. i also told her how to get this whole situation resolved about a month ago and have gone out of my way to help her find solutions that dont include me because she will not pay. i already lost about $600 on this job because she didnt want to pay for the compactor rental aswell. unfortunately **** is unable to work with and that is why she hasnt been able to find someone to finish the 5 hours of work. instead she wpuld like me to lose money and eat her loses she created for herself. as always i work true and honest and have 100s of clients who are happy and ive never had a situation like this before where someone refused to pay for work done and hours put in for a time and material job. she was supposed to pay daily they wouldnt and complained.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Joshua received $3500 from me BEFORE, NOTE: BEFORE the job got started. So for him to say that he didn’t receive any money is ** *** ***** ***. I put my trust in HIM, a total stranger, with my money. I have my banking statements to prove HOW MUCH I paid him and WHEN I paid him.

I found Joshua through a home improvement  app whose policy is to pay only AFTER the job is done.
So, when I spoke with Joshua he knew this. Despite this policy, 3 days into the job Joshua requested more payment (on top of the $3500 I already paid him) so that he could pay his helper, I agreed and paid him an additional $700. We then both agreed that I would pay the balance once the job was completed.
So by that point, 3 days into the job, which was unfinished, he had received a total of $4200 from me. So which side had the trust exactly??
I then noticed the bricks were not level and that is when I commented that he needed to level the bricks.
The day after that comment he abandoned the job, claiming that he wasn’t going to remove no bricks.
      ** **** **** ********* **** ** * **** *** *** ** *** *** ******* ****** ***** ** * *** ******
The job was HORRIBLE, bricks concaving in *** ***** ****** **** **** ** **** **** ** ** ****.  Joshua did not dig deep enough, did not use the proper aggregate, did not do a proper job and why the bricks were not level and why the job was so improperly done.
Joshua abandoned his work and never finished the job I have the pictures and video and security video to prove it and enough security video to show what a ****** job he did.
      Despite the horrible job, I paid him the rest of the labour that he claimed I owed him, against my better judgement. ****** ** *** ****** ***** **** ***** *** ******* ****** *** * *** ** ** *** *** ** **** ** ********** ** ** *** *** ***** **** * ********** **** ** ** ******
      *** * ****** ***** *** ****** *** *** **** ***** *** ****** **** ***** *** ** ******
The bricks have since been removed from the ground. I don’t want Joshua nowhere near my house

I want Joshua to ADMIT he did me wrong. To ADMIT he doesn’t know what he is doing, ** ***** ** ** ************

hey there so i now have screen shots to show the entire conversation over text between me and rose. **** ********* * *** ********** **** *** **** *** ****** * **** **** *** ****** ** * ******* * **** **** **** ***** ** *** **** **** ******* ** *** ****** *** ** ** *** *** **** ***** ** *** **** ******* *** **** ** ****** *** *** *** **** *** ******* **** ** ****. as **** mentioned she paid me 3500 prior to the job, that wasnt a payment for the job that was her material cost for the time and material job. she paid for her material which is all at her house i do not have any of it. as i mentioned **** denied to pay the first day and said she will pay later. giving her my trust i allowed this to avoid conflict, thursday came and it was our last day working there that week with 1 day of work left which was for the following monday. being a time and material job **** should of been paying me daily but refused then thursday only wanted to pay me for half the labor 700 and not the full owing 1400. out of my kindness i allowed this she then proceeded to state the job isnt in her budget anymore and cant pay another day. i told her we would need just monday to complete. at this time she owed me 700 from the prior week. sunday came and i let **** know i will be there monday to to finish. she then stated i need to relevel the bricks which would meen removing them all from the floor and adding more substrate this would take about 2 or 3 days and she had already said she couldnt pay that. i then told her i will come and do thay for her but before i tear up work i need the remaining 700 from the past week of labor. she then created a argument stating i did a bad job when she was outside watching us do it with a smile saying it looks amazing.she also said i did not do the job right which is incorrect. as seen in pictures all looks good but unfinished also she states i didnt go low enough but then that would mean her bricks would be high and shes claming there low. i went as low as we can go due to roots and tree stumps. got about 6"of screenings then the brick. her old bricks are sunken in in many spots and her whole drive way should of been done but instead shes complaining about her existing brick on a slant  claiming she almost fell but it was always like that because they park cars on the side grass which caused them to sink. she never asked me to fix any existing bricks only add new ones which i did then she complained... i understand her frustration In the situation I truly do but what she's not understanding is. I was more than willing to finish this job for her until she started telling me. She couldn't pay and then wanting me to stay there for more dayshe made it to a point where I could not trust her. No more to pay me therefore I could not return. What she was asking for in the last message for me to come pay her for the bricks and take them Just isn't right. She paid for those bricks all ready, all she had to do was pay someone to finish the job instead she tore it all up and wanted me to lose $2600. There are over thousands of brick colors and shapes therefore using those bricks for another job is impossible.  So I would have to eat those costs for her decision of not no longer wanting to use them. She then argued with me for multiple days about how she only owed me $300 not the 700 which was inaccurate and she even said after. That she was wrong. Trying to find ways not to pay me. *** ****** *** ****** **** ***** ** ** ***** *** **** *** ******** *** there was no contract first of all second all our conversations i stated to her time and material which means pay per day for time and pay for materials. the reason it was time and material because i knew it may take more days to complete she then told me i said it would take 3 days. She owed me I did everything I could to help her even gave her solutions on how to get it done instead she didn't want it She just wanted An argument. As she mentioned her last message she wants me to go no where near her home which I wasn't going to do anyways so I honor her wishes. And I will not be anywhere near her home. Also if she wants an apology for this I apologize about how it played out but I do not feel I'm wrong in this because I have. More than enough proof to protect me and prove my whereabouts prove my timings prove my job through all of it. *** *** ** **** **** ** **** *** ****** ** *** * ******** ** ***** **** **** *** ***** ** ***** I have more than hundreds of clients Already and they have been more than ecstatic with all my work. *** ** ******* *** * **** ******** * ******* ******** * ****** *** ******* I also just wanted to mention as well. She keeps comparing this job to her neighbor's job. Her neighbor told me he paid 13k  for the job she paid 5k *** ** **** ***** ******* *** *** ** *** ***** *** ******** *** *** *** *** **** *** ***** *** ***** ****** **** ***** ** **** **** **** *** ** ******** ********** ***** ***** ** ******** **** also mentions that she hired me through a app for this job but this job was taken off the platform and was a time and material job but she Was fully aware of as you can see in the text messages. if the business bureau needs any information from me. Please call I'm more than happy to help you guys out.  Also I have lots of proof that I could send over not just 5 pictures. I have about 40. not to mention the first day im there she was fully aware the material was being dropped off for the driveway to be empty. she then had both garage doors closed and her daughters car inside with the material infront which set us back aswell because we needed to move it all. she blamed me saying it was my fault haha i guess i should've put the material on my back and know her daughter had a car in there for her... **** ***** *** *** *** **** *** ***** **** **** **** *** **** ** *** ** * ****** ***** **** ***** ******** ** ****** *** * **** **** ***** **** *** ** ***** **** *** ******* **** *** **** ** ** **** **** ** ***** ** *** ****** ** *** *** *** **** *** ****** ************* **** ** *** ** ****** ****

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

      ****** ****** *** *** * ********* ** ** * **** *** * ******
He is mixing up the events and facts. He’s creating his own version of what happened and has made wild assumptions in his remarks.
He made a nice profit from the work he never finished.
I told him that I would gladly pay him once he finished the job, whatever it took. I didn’t have a budget, Joshua told me the job would take 3 days and based my budget from that.
We AGREED FROM THE START of the job that he would get paid ONCE THE JOB WAS DONE. He changed the agreement one day into the job and demanded I pay him for the day.
I refused, based on our agreement. He then asked again the next day, I gave in two days into the job and sent him $700.
The JOB NEVER GOT FINISHED, because HE ABANDONED HIS WORK, HE DIDNT WANT TO FINISH THE JOB BECAUSE HE OVERCOMMITTED HIMSELF, and he didn’t like my complaints that the bricks were NOT LEVEL. I REPEAT: THE BRICKS WERE NOT LEVEL. THEY CONCAVED IN.

As a home owner and paying customer I have EVERY RIGHT to receive quality results  I should be able to complain if justified and I was 100% justified in complaining of the poor job  and service I received

ANY OTHER COMPANY WOULD HAVE MORE THAN GLADLY FIXED THEIR MISTAKE, Joshua instead ABANDONED HIS WORK

****** ** ************** **** ** ********* ** * ***** *** * ****. He profited from the materials purchased and profited from the labour  He would have profited MORE had he finished the job

I PAID HIM EVERYTHING I OWED HIM despite the horrible quality of his work.
