Marko F. is not a reliable individual. He made many promises and was not about to keep them. We signed a contract and he did not fulfill his legal duties. Marko F. was paid in full but did not complete the job. He refuses to give us a refund.

      Urbanest Construction Response

      Hi there.

When I last spoke with the clients, they informed me that if I stepped foot on their property again, they were going to call the police and have me charged with trespassing. They also told me they would charge me with harassment of I continued to contact them.

As I had been committed to the completion of their project, I was able to have one of my carpenters, with their permission, to access the home to complete the installation of come custom millwork. I had request permission to send my other trades in to complete the outstanding work and ensured the clients that I would not step foot on their property as per their request. They denied me this option.

I have since then never heard back from the clients and have never been formally inoformed of the cost incurred to complete the remaining few items.

They claim I "refuse" to vice a refund, but no refund was requested, not communication or information provided.

As mentioned, I had committed to the completion of their project and would have done some if not threatened with police action. Yes we were delayed, but there was not reason for this threat.

      Thank you,
      Marko F.

      Customer Response

The reason we asked Mr, F. not to step foot on our property again was because of the confrontation I had with him and because of the sheer fact he was spewing threats of claiming bankruptcy because he couldn't afford the job anymore. His "commitment to complete the project" meant nothing to us when he blatantly advised he is going to claim bankruptcy so he didn't have to complete the project. His attitude and confrontational behaviour merited the fact that we did NOT want him back on the premise. *************************************************************** *****************************. With regards to sending a carpenter with our permission to access the home is correct. However, the custom millwork was not completed! Glass inserts were not installed and painting of the piece was not completed (including other incomplete work). We were NEVER asked to have other tradesmen to come over, The contradictory statements in Mr. F.'s replies just show exactly what we had to deal with. If we asked him not to contact us, then HOW did we deny anyone else to come to our home to complete our project?? Also, I personally asked him for a refund on the day of the heated conversation and on the day we fired him for services NOT rendered (after we paid him in full). I have it on a recording on our security footage that we have a copy of. For a "professional" that gave us a contract and QUOTE, he is AWARE of what needed to be completed. He does NOT need to come to our home to send a refund for services NOT RENDERED, he could send it via email. The delay was over exaggerated and us asking him not to come back to the site was not a threat. I was a merited response after our confrontation. With his response above, one can see exactly what we had to deal with over the year.

      Customer Response

To date, we have had to spend and additional $10,000 to complete our project.
Marko from Urbanest Construction has not reimbursed us the outstanding amount (which we specifically requested when he was fired for services not rendered).
Unfortunately, because Marko cut corners with the mudding and taping of our walls, we had to have the mudding redone. The corner beading was STAPLED up on the walls instead of glued on. Marko was aware of this because his contractor, Oliver was the one who did it incorrectly. Marko only replaced a few of the areas. The beading (which was not replaced) started to peel away from the walls and needed to be redone. The poor quality of mud started to crumble off of the walls (which you can imagine made a huge mess everywhere!).
As requested in the past we would like to be reimbursed the outstanding amount and we are still waiting for it.

      Good afternoon.

Gilda is absolutely correct, we did in fact staple the corner beads on, as well as glued. This is a completely acceptable method for the application of corne read and is actually noted on most manufacturers installation instructions.

Regarding the taping work in question. The original crew hired did not complete the work to our satisfaction resulting in them being removed from the site and replaced with *************** to redo all the plaster. I name that company because the clients were so pleased their work, they hired them to complete the renovation of their basement, which I have to add was not permitted by the city. So I find it surprising to hear how terrible the work was that they did on the main floor.

Regarding refunds. We have absolutely no issues in providing a refund to the clients, though we have not once been approached to receive one, nor have we been notified of these issues. If the clients were to please provide us with the original invoices of the work completed as well as photographs to show the deficiencies before and after the repairs, we will certainly provide a refund.

I sincerely look forward to their reply.
      Marko F.
