I wish to file a complaint on a business not in your database. Not sure if doing this right. Business name is Under Pressure Hyperbaric TC. Owner is Michelle W. and Medical director is Dr. Marion L. Telephone # is 905 274 2032. 1692 Lakeshore Rd., W., Mississauga I will be short and if more info required my # is *** *** **** Live in *******. I suffer from nasty co-infection of lyme disease called Babesiosis, like malaria only worse. At start owner tells me they have had success with Lyme patients so I had nothing to loss by trying this therapy since in 5 years nothing has worked. After week and half, their Dr. L. e-mails me saying basically that for Babesia parasite, therapy may do more harm than good. It activates the parasites. So I immediately stopped after 6 sessions at $195 per session. So doctor did not read my paperwork until they had almost $1200 of my money. Asked for money back through e-mail and in person, ***********************. **********************************. Even asked for half.

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/01/07) */ Hi, My name is Izaak D., I am the assistant clinic manager at Under Pressure Hyperbaric Treatment Center. I had the chance to speak to this patient on occasion while they were having treatments at our clinic. I would like to highlight a couple of items with regards to this matter. 1. The controversy the patient is speaking of has never been confirmed. All literature on the matter states that HBOT "may" reactivate the parasites, not that it is a guarantee. 2. All patients must do a consultation with our doctors before a patient begins treatments. The patient does not have any contraindications for HBOT as spelled out by the Canadian Ministry of Health. Therefore, the patient is a viable candidate for HBOT and chose to begin treatments. 3. All patients sign a consent form before treatments are administered. Article 13 of the consent form states "there are no refunds for completed treatments". This form was signed by the patient before first treatment was performed. ************************************************************************************************************* *The owner the patient is speaking of is our Clinic Manager, she does not own the business. Consumer Response /* (3000, 12, 2022/01/12) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Under Pressure should own up to the fact they did NOT give me the MAY NOT Work statement until after consent form was signed. And after $1200.00 was spent. I never did speak to Dr. Marion L. Medical Director who sent me the disturbing e-mail. Number 15 on consent form states I accept treatment at my own free will and choice. I never had the proper information at the start. The MAY NOT WORK statement comes after the fact. I would have made a more educated determination if that information was given to me prior to signing agreement. *************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2022/01/27) */ *****, The documentation you wished our doctors to review was received at the same time the consent form was signed. Regardless of how many treatments you had, it is unreasonable to suggest that the information should have been given to you before you made the decision to receive treatment considering when we received to documentation, nor did you tell any doctor or staff member that you wanted the documentation reviewed before you began treatment. Consumer Response /* (4200, 16, 2022/02/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************* *********************************************************************************************************************************************** Why would I sign consent forms if I was told at beginning that treatments may activate the parasites and do more harm than good?? Is that Standard Procedure? Do not tell the patient everything?? They clearly dropped the ball by not being up front about this key information....I should not have had to ask for this information, ************************************************************************** ************************************** Should I not receive any form of refund in timely fashion, I do not intend to give up. *************************************************************************************************************************** Business Response /* (4000, 18, 2022/02/19) */ **. ****, We completely deny all your allegations, you were fully informed of our no refund policy before consent was signed, and provided us with relevant medical information post consultation. ****************************************************************************************** **************************************************************************************
