I hired Mccan heating and cooling to do a full supply and install of furnace, ductwork, HRV, air conditioning, water heater and propane lines for my new build home in 2021. The work provided by ***** ***** and his employees was very amateur to say the least with many issues such as him cutting out supporting studs to run duct work without letting me know ahead of time to add proper header support above it, not taping air leaks in ductwork, kinking propane line at the stove top, cutting excessive holes in the floor for heating lines that were in the wrong spot, didn’t wrap the heating/cooling ducts in the attic with any insulation so I had to do it myself to avoid condensation occurring, multiple hrv controls in the house do not work, but the worst issue is the leaking propane lines. After all this he came in and said he would need more money than he originally quoted me. I have sulphur water in the house so the mechanical room often times smells of sulphur, so for a long time the leaks went undetected seeing as sulphur is what is used to give propane it’s smell. After the smell got worse and people in the house complained of headaches I bought a propane detector alarm, which started to alarm but then stop very quickly, so I then bought a combustible gas “sniffer” and brought it into the mechanical room, I found multiple leaks and got ahold of McCann, he refused to fix it stating he was on vacation and he only guarantees his work on PROPANE AND GAS LINES for one year (something that should remain leak free for the life of the home). He then told me to fix it myself and that it was unlikely that it was leaking. That is extremely unprofessional seeing as I am not licensed. I then notified TSSA and my propane supplier, a tech came out and located 6 major leaks. I just wanted McCann to fix it, or offer to have someone else fix it at his cost. I was billed $333.35 to have his work fixed properly and I want McCann heating and cooling to reimburse me for it.
