On November 2, 2021, I purchased a “Parts Plan Renewal” from *****s for my home’s furnace at a price of $315.78. The Parts Plan is essentially an insurance policy for the furnace, so that if a problem occurs with the furnace over the year it is repaired free-of-charge. On February 27, 2022 my furnace failed and on that day *****s sent a technician who diagnosed that the furnace needed a new ECM motor. However, *****s was not able to obtain the required part, and so their recommendation was for me to purchase a new furnace. I bought a new furnace at full price from another local furnace company and had it installed on March 4, 2022. During the 5 or so days that I had no working furnace I had to run electric heaters and my gas fireplace to avoid my home freezing, at a significant cost on my electricity bill. I called *****s in late March and was told I would receive a refund on the Parts Plan. After a week or so I called back and was asked to provide my credit card information so that the refund could be processed. A week or two after that I called again and was told that the owner needed to approve the refund. I called a fourth time on April 5 and was told that I would receive a call-back that day. On April 6 I called a fifth time and was told I would receive a call-back that day. On April 7 I called a sixth time and was told I would receive a call-back before April 16. I never received any call-backs from *****s about this matter. ****’s did not honour their commitment under the Parts Plan to repair my furnace free-of-charge in the event that it failed. *****s has also not responded to my requests for a refund. Therefore, I am asking for the Better Business Bureau’s assi****ce in getting a refund of the cost of the Parts Plan.Business response
