Brought new engagement ring to be resized. When picked up the ring was no longer round and didn’t look right. After a couple of days it started hurting my fiancé and when she took it off it was all warped and missing a side diamond. Emailed the jeweller and was told they would fix it. When brought in he blamed my fiance saying she had to have caught her hand in some way that caused it so warp. Her hand was fine and nothing had been caught. It warped just being on her hand **** *** ********* ** *** **** ** *** ***** ********* After just picking up the ring it is still far from round and now the main diamond which sound not have been touched is dark and wrecked. I was charged almost 200 total for a ring that has been destroyed by this business and can no longer be worn.

**** **** ******* ************ ********** *** when he came in after it was “warped” he didn’t disagree when I explained to him a ring doesn’t bend or warp on its own. It was not in that condition (shown in picture) when they picked it up the first time when it was originally sized. You can clearly see it’s bent and warped on two spots that’s not even near the bottom which is where we sized it.

      when originally they came in I explain to BOTH of them that sizing down the ring would be SLIGHTLY oval on the sides because if it were perfectly round the stones on the side would fall out. If it was sized up that wouldn’t be an issue and it could be perfectly round. I explicitly explained this and they both said it was fine. It was barely oval once the sizing was complete and nothing close to the condition it was in when they brought it back in almost a week later saying ** *** ** ***** the ring bent in that way. Also, when they picked it up after the original sizing they were both very happy with it and thanked me. * **** ***** *** **** *** **** ** **** *** **** ** ****** *** ******* ****** *** **** ** ********* ** *** ********* ** ********** **** *** **** *** **** ** **** ********** I tried working with them to re shape the ring as much as possible at no charge doing them a favour. I did charge for the diamond that had fallen out *** ***** ****** *** ** *** ****** **** *** ** ** ** ***** **** I could have charged for both the diamond and reshaping of the ring because that new damage was 100% not due to sizing. Again it’s bent on two spots not even close to the sizing area. **** **** ******* ** *** *********** ********* *** **** **** *** *** ******** ****** *** **** ** ********* *** **** *** ** **** **** **** *** ** ******** ** **** ******** *** *** ****** ********* *** *** ****** ********** *** ** ****** *** ************* *** *** **** ****** ** **** ************** *** ***** *** ******* ** **** ** *** ****** ** *** **** *** ****** ***** *** ******** ****** ** ****** ******* ****** ***** *** * *** * ******* **** *** ***** ** ******* ***** Total cost for original sizing was $75 and then $60 for the diamond that fell out ***** **** ******* *** **** ** ***** *** *** ***** ** **** *** ***** **** *** Nothing close to the $200 they claim. As for the “damaged main diamond” it’s another exaggeration and false claim on their part. When sizing is done all stones are carefully covered and we do not touch them as the sizing is done on the Bottom of the ring. **** ****** ***** ***** ** ** ** ******** **** *** ******* ** *** ** *** ***** Maybe if we were re tipping the clause as work is done directly on the diamond when re tipping but this was just a sizing.

I am rejecting this response because:
      There is no exaggeration with this. I bought a ring it was in brand new condition and brought it to this gentleman because we had been there in the past. ******* * ***** *** ***** ** *** *** *** *** *** ***** **** ********** *** *** *** *** *** ***** We got the ring back and it was very weak and nowhere near round. I have already done what I can. * ****** ** ***** ***** ** ********* **** ** *** ** ****** As seen in the pictures I provided previously, the ring is bent in two locations that aren’t remotely close to where we sized it. If it was bent where the ring was sized that’d be one thing but it’s clearly not. ** * **** ****** *** ********* ***** ***** **** ** ****** *** ******* * ********** The ring is ABSOLUTELY wearable and is not “destroyed” **** *** ************ *** ****** ** **** * ***** ***** As for this black mark they keep mentioning on the main diamond it’s most likely just buffing compound thats left over and didn’t get steamed out all the way during the buffing and steaming process. If they had simply asked instead of choosing this route i would have gladly taken a look and clean it out more. ** **** ***** **** *** **** ******* *********  It just needs some more steam cleaning which is usually free. ***** **** ** ** ****** ****** ** **** ******** ****** *** **** ** *** ******** *** ******* *** ****** ***** ****** *** ** * *** **** ******* *** *** ** ***** ****** ********** *** ** ***** ***** *** ********

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

      We emailed asking why the main diamond was black the second we received the ring back. If it was buffing compound why was it returned to us with that? We paid it should have been given back with that diamond clear like it was on drop off. As well the ring should have been basically the same condition aside from it being sized. ** *** ****** **** ************** ** ***** *** **** ************ ** * ** *** *** **** ** *** **** ** ** *** **** ********* ** **** It's unwearable as it's weakened badly ** **** ********* it's nowhere near round so it doesn't not fit, the diamond has a black spot on it. I have visited other jewellers in different areas who have said it's not fixable now ******* ** *** **** *** ******** ** ***** ** **** ** ******* **** ******** ******* *** *** *** *** *********** ****** ** ****** ***** ** **** ****** ** **** ***** **** ** ********** *** **** ***** *** ** *** **** ****** ******* ** ** ***** *** ******** ******* ** ** ********* I hope to find a jeweller who can help this ********** situation. *** ********** *** ********** ****** ** **** *** *** ******** ** ***** ** **** *** * **** **** *** ********* *** **** *** ** ******* *** **** ********** ************* * ** *** *********** ****** ** ****** *** *** ** ****** ** ********** **** **** * ******* ****** **** * **** ****** ** ***** ********* ** **** **** **** *** ***** ******* **** ******* ***** ********* **** ***** **** ***** **** *** **** ****** ****** ** * ********. You wouldn't even respond to what happened to the diamond. I never agreed with you. The first time you have the ring you ********** resized it and left the gold weak and thin and not round which caused the ring to bent horribly. That's why it was brought back. Also a diamond fell out when that should never have happened. ** **** *** ******* **** ******** ******* ********* *** **** *** **** *** **** *** **** **** *** ********* **** *** *************** ** *** **** ****** ********* ********* ********* ** *** **** ************* I want either the price the ring is worth, an acceptable replacement or the ring back in brand new condition **** ** *** ****** *** ********* ***
