We purchased a set of ***** ****** Cookware on 28 August, 2023. The purchase was financed by Maple Valley Financial Institution and was initiated by the sales rep. Upon use of the cookware, we noticed discoloration and contacted the sales rep. The cookware failed to fulfil the description and quality we were told at the time of purchase. We reached out to both the sales rep and Maple Valley to cancel the contract and return the cookware set following the defect. Maple Valley has refused to communicate with us in a professional manner so a solution can be arrived at. We reached out to Maple Valley and we were taken aback by the **** *** ************** way the staff spoke to us. We sent a written notice for cancellation and no one has deemed it fit to acknowledge the letter weeks after receipt. We will exercise our rights as consumers who have been sold a product that failed it in description and quality. We request a refund of our $2000 deposit and a cancellation of the contract. The set of cookware is packed and ready to be returned. We want no dealings with a institution like Maple Valley.Business response

Maple Valley Financial is an independent direct sales financing company. We have no relationship with the seller other than we finance their sales from time to time. We verified the terms of the purchase over the phone with ******* before funding the dealer. The contract has a ten day cancellation period, or longer if the buyer did not receive the merchandise. During the phone verification, which ocurred on August 30th, ******* said that they had received their merchandise. If ******* is not satisfied with the merchandise, they would have to contact the sales company regarding those concerns. Rick C., President, Maple Valley Financial

I am rejecting this response because: the seller mentioned Maple Valley is the 'authority' that can cancel whatever agreement exist. It is clear that MVF and the dealer have a relationship,l. Every sale made by the dealer/sales person is financed by MVF. Both parties should agree on the next steps including a refund and retrieving their product.

* **** ******** * **** ** *** ***** ********* We are a finance company independent of the sale. We cannot make a sale, or cancel a sale. That is between the buyer and the sales company. We do not finance every deal that this sales company makes, but finance some of their sales from time to time.
We verified this sale with the buyer over the phone on August 29th before we financed it for the sales company.
