I'm sorry you are experiencing issues operating your Block Heater in your Vehicle. We do perform the installation guidelines set out by Toyota Canada. There is a cover on the end and is operational as it should. I am rejecting this response because:The response provided by Toyota as shown below is unsatisfactory.
I am being denied use of the plug heater when needed (i.e below 20degress celsius) because ice formation is found inside the receptacle preventing the male plug from being inserted into the female.
This was the situation found by the Toyota Technician who used a high-pressure hose and a piece of metal to remove the ice.
The Technician mentioned the flap does not make a proper seal to prevent water and snow from getting inside the plug.Sincerely,

We simply installed a factory designed accessory I do recommend that you do contact Toyota Canada for assistance. Toyota Canada has the design and has tested and released this accessory. Should you want it replaced, we could absolutely do that for you, however it sounds like you are unhappy with the design of it which is a Toyota Canada part.

My vehicle which is a 2011 Rav 4 has a recall on it for windshield wiper linkage/motor. I have called for an appointment and they cancelled saying they don't have the part that was 3 weeks ago. Well I was out of town and my windshield wipers blew. They told me I would have to drive it back to North Bay to have it checked. Yes driving with no windshield wipers. I go there today, April 18 to have my wipers looked at as I need wipers I already risked my life once. They told me the part wasn't in yet. I told them could they just look at it quickly to tell me if that their recall is the problem so I could go elsewhere. ( I am a 4 time Toyota owner). They refused and sent me on my way. It is their recall and it's not just a broken light it is windshield wipers in April in Northern Ontario. I have work to be at and school to drive to. I will be out money for their recall. For them to not even take a quick look to see if that was the issue. They had no care if lives were at risk. They refused a rental even though it was their recall as it wasn't under warranty. It is scary no matter how busy you are to let someone walk out of your establishment that unhappy and knowing it could risk their lives. I'm not a stupid person and of course will not be driving it, but they don't know that. I will be out money for a rental they should be providing due to their recall. Thank youBusiness response
