******* ********** ****************** A local auto mechanic shop suggested I drop by True North Chevrolets parts department & inquire about purchasing a long block engine. After visiting True North, I purchased a ** long block engine from John C******, True Norths parts department manager. John gave me both verbal and written confirmation of the 120,000 km, 3 year ** warranty, that came with the purchase of this ** engine. I was informed that whether the engine was installed at the dealership or at a 3rd party mechanic shop, the warranty would be honoured by **. True North did not got back to me on a price for the engine installation, so I had the engine delivered to the local shop for installation. After completing the installation, both the crankshaft seal and the timing chain cover seal began to leak. There was a definite wobble coming from the harmonic balancer, which could possibly have been the reason for the oil leaks. After 2 additional attempts to replace the harmonic balancer, crankshaft pulley & timing chain cover with it's gasket, the oil leaks continued. At this point the local shop thought the crankshaft on the new engine may be out of true, causing the problems. It was suggested to bringBusiness response

We take complaints very seriously and worked diligently with Mr. **** to try to solve his concerns. From my review of the correspondence it appears that there may be a miscommunication in that Mr. **** believes that his warranty had been voided on the engine he purchased. At no time did we indicate to Mr. **** that the warranty on the engine was voided, however the repairs that he had done elsewhere that failed would not be covered under the warranty he received with the purchase of the engine.
If Mr. **** would be kind enough to provide the contact information for the ** *** representatives he spoke to, we would reach out to them to review Mr. ****’s situation in an effort to clarify this matter.
Finally, it is our responsibility to provide a safe working environment for our staff and our customers. Our Front Line staff asked not to continue to work with Mr. **** due to repeated negative interactions. This is why we suggested he seek out the other ** dealer in town. This is not something we do lightly either.

As requested, I will supply True North Chevrolet with the names of whom I dealt with from ** Customer Care of Canada. (** Customer Care *************).
I find this to be an extremely unusual request, as both parties that I have dealt with from ** Customer Care of Canada have been in touch with Mr. Tim W****** (True North Chevrolets Service Manager) in order for them to reach their final decision on my ** Customer Care number: *************.
Additionally, I will comply with no longer dealing with True North Chevrolet for the servicing of my vehicle, but opening reject that at any time other than the one time when a service advisor by the name of Mr. Anthony D****** (who had nothing to do with the servicing of my vehicle) decided to unprofessionally and rudely interject into a conversation that he was not involved with. In this one case, I returned Mr. D******’s questions with the same frankness.
Despite being told numerous untruths throughout my dealing with True North Chevrolet, I continually dealt with them in a professional manner.
