Account not mine, no knowledge of this account. I am not liable for this debt, I do not have a contract with Financial Debt recovery and they have failed to validate any information or contracts pertaining to this. I would like this removed from my credit bureau.

This is the correspondence I had with DCA on email and I have also contacted in person without resolution or response. I have also contacted the creditor who is unable to provide me with original contract and stated it now belongs to collection agencies, but has no reconciliation or anything in regards to original contract. They are unable to find any information on me. Please have this issue resolved and removed off my bureau as we don’t even have indication if this was fully paid for or if a contract still legally exists.

I have an outstanding debt with **** * ***, for which I made a payment arrangement and have been fulfilling my monthly payments. I continue to receive notices from DCA for another account with **** * *** that does not exist. If you look at the copies of the agreements you sent me, the scheduled withdrawal dates were the EXACT SAME for "both" accounts. There is ONE account, and I have been making my monthly payments toward it. Every time I contact DCA, they tell me to ignore the second account and that they are looking into it. Each time I follow their instructions, but I continue to get emails and now letters, as of today, telling me that I need to make an immediate arrangement to avoid further collection efforts. I am having anxiety attacks over this and need you to stop contacting me regarding the account that does not exist (file number ********). Any time I call, I am transferred through different departments until I reach someone (the past couple times it has been Gina), who then says that she is launching an inquiry. This harassment over a non-existent debt cannot possibly be legal.

I am rejecting this response because: I have contacted DCA multiple times regarding this. I have contacted **** * ***, and they informed me that there was a duplicate that should not have been sent to DCA. DCA has done absolutely nothing to resolve this, and I have been told multiple times that DCA will contact **** * *** and resolve this. I was told by **** * *** to contact DCA regarding this issue, and now DCA is telling me again to contact **** * ***, despite them saying that they would launch an inquiry. DCA has continued to harass me despite this duplicate account not existing.I explained to Gina on the phone that if she looked at the contracts on the original and duplicate account, she would see that the withdrawal dates are exactly the same. How would I have gotten two payday loans from **** * *** with the exact same withdrawal dates? DCA needs to resolve this and actually pay attention to what has occurred.

I feel compelled to share my alarming experience with Debt Control Agency, a stark contrast to the excellent service I received from other collection agencies under similar circumstances. After opting to pay my debt in full to Debt Control Agency (surpassing the settlement offer) for an account associated with ******* ******, I expected a straightforward process. This payment was crucial, not just for resolving financial issues, but also for assembling a package for my ongoing identity theft case, making the release letter from Debt Control Agency extremely urgent. My repeated emails to confirm the payment remain ignored, showing a concerning lack of customer care. The responses from different agents via telephone were contradictory and unhelpful, further complicating the situation. (One said it was mailed another said it wasn’t) When my daughter called on my behalf, her pleas for urgent assistance were met with requests for more voicemails, despite our existing unreturned messages. (Emails and voicemails) This discrepancy is particularly concerning given the numerous negative reviews online about Debt Control Agency, which highlight similar issues of unprofessionalism (*** **** **** ********* *********** ***** ********** **********) The overwhelming negative reviews online are red flags that cannot be ignored and I wish I had checked the reviews before contacting this company. I truly understand how the other consumers felt ******** * **** **** * *** *******; I paid, as per their email (in full) they promised to send the letter and they still have not emailed me the letter.(The other companies all emailed me the release letter within 24hrs) I have been reaching out to them for over a week now and still no response. My daughter was told she couldn’t speak to anyone and had to leave a voicemail (which rightfully upset her) if no one is available then who is (*********) I mean “collecting” from consumers..? It takes two seconds to type one sentence.

      Good evening,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

The account was paid in full on November 7, 2023, The letter of release is normally mailed out to the consumers address.

A special request can be made for the letter of release to be sent via email, The consumer will have to email DCA INC with identification (Name, Address and date of birth) for us to email the letter of release. We have not received the identification (Name, Address and date of birth) via email hence why letter of release was not emailed.

We have confirmed with our administrative team that a letter of release has been mailed to the consumers address.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Contrary to their claim, I included all necessary identification information in my initial payment email and subsequent communications. I also informed them that I no longer reside at the address they have on file since I moved on Nov 1st 2023. (That email was sent on Nov 10th) * **** ******** * *** **** *********** ** **** *** **** *********. Additionally, their team has provided contradictory information regarding the release letter, varying between it being mailed out and not being sent at all.

This inconsistency, coupled with their assertion that they are a smaller company compared to the other collection companies justifies a lack of response, is unacceptable and unprofessional. (This was told to my daughter when she called today, calls are recorded on there and I’m sure they can verify this)

Still those emails go unresponsive and It directly impacts my ability to resolve my case efficiently.

Being a “smaller company” is not an excuse to have consumers feeling like they were ******** If the reason for not emailing the letter truly was lack of identity (which I have proved it wasn’t) why did no one respond and said “sorry, we are unable to process this letter due to lack of identity etc.) the least they could have done is confirmed the payment was processed successfully, instead of the customer care team being completely unresponsive. I seriously question the reliability of this company given that they are very comfortable lying to consumers, even when faced with proof and facts. And the fact is I have sent 5 emails and left numerous voicemails all of which have never been responded to by this company. The lack of customer care is why consumer hate collection companies; which is sad because the other companies I dealt with were amazing, even educating me on certain aspects of the process & industry.

      Good eveneing,

Due to volume of release request, typically letters of releases are mailed to consumers approximately 30 days after the full balance has been resolved.

A letter of release was issued to this particular consumer 10 days after the account was resolved.

We do  apologize if this created an inconvenience.

I have been getting numerous phone calls every day from DCA Inc. asking for a call back and referencing a case ID. I looked them up on the internet and see they are a Debt Collection Agency. I have never dealt with DCA, I have no unpaid debts and am current on all my accounts and have never been in debt. My only outstanding loan is a mortgage and that has been the case since I has in university. I have been semi-retired for 7 years now and do not appreciate the ********** they are putting me through. Several years ago someone stole a credit card which I reported immediately, but I believe some purchases were made on it before the credit card company were able to cancel it. This is the only issue I have ever had with any credit card or agency. I wish to put in a complaint against DCA Inc as I believe they are mistaken in trying to contact me. I would engage with them except I know this only leads to more calls and harassment. Thank you, ****** ******

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

As of yesterday (November 10, 2023) the calls were continuing.  The agent I spoke did mention it may take 24-48 hours to stop, but the disruption caused to our daily lives was not repaired.

The calls were as many as 10 -12 times per day, and not just on the number listed.  The agent mentioned they use a call generator that comes in from several area codes so they are impossible to block.  They were also calling on my cell phone and leaving messages there.  The agent admitted I was not the person they were looking for (different age group) and lived in a different area.  The only similarity was my name.  I see no reparation, no regret and no apology for the disruption and anxiety caused to me and my household.  Some explanation as to why DCA Inc targeted me and how they got my numbers and chose the tactics they did should be explained as well.

These actions and tactics are certainly unethical if not illegal.  If they continue today, I will be furthering this issue to legal authorities and to the CRTC.

      Good morning,

Thank you for bringing this customers complaint to our attention.

The customer made a deposit to our trust account and provided the wrong account information.

The customer provided us with proof of payment in August.

After a thorough search, the funds were located, reversed from the account number the customer supplied and applied again his account number.

The Funds were submitted to our Client and the debt is satisfied.

The account is closed within our office and a request was submitted to the reporting agencies to remove any derogatory listings from the bureaus.

NOTE: It could take the reporting agencies 30-60 days to update their records.

I trust that this will satisfy the customer as although there was an unfortunate delay due to the customer providing the wrong account information, finally the funds were applied to the correct account and there is no further monies outstanding.
