On November 9th, 2021 two technicians from IAQ Experts came to my house after I called based on an ad in Barrie **********************. The technician proceeded to blow all air vents with an air compressor hose and never even removed the covers (no vacuuming). They spend a little time in the basement and then proceeded to tell me the vents were filled with dead mice and mold. They recommended mold remediation and arranged with the office for a quote. I took the quote and paid via etransfer ($1250 - original ad was for $149.95). They performed none of the duties as indicated in the ad. They didn't even ask to see the side of the house with the AC or where the central vac was located (they were supposed to clean and flush, among other things). It smells like they sprayed an oregano oil in the basement and told me I could not go down there due to toxic fumes so I could not verify they did anything. I went down myself later after the period of time they recommended (4 hours) and pulled huge dust bunnies out of the vents myself as soon as I opened up the air return on the furnace. The tech also told me they did a "heat loss" test on the ceiling (despite having no equipment up there). He said 85% heat loss and that I need attic insulation. Show me a pic from ****** and said it was his house just recently insulated. He gave me two numbers and told me OPA offers a rebate on insulation. OPA hasn't existing for 20 years which should have been my first clue but it was early and I wasn't fully awake yet. I called the insulation company and deposited money with them for an appointment on Sunday. After getting home from driving my pregnant wife to prenatal appointments, I had a chance to look this company up and came across some postings about ***** ********. I confronted him (**************) with the info and he refunded me. ************************************************************ The duct cleaning company is not registered in his name so he has plausible deniability.Business response

Indoor clean air experts. August 21 2021 $1016.94 They had a coupon in a flyer for less than 200.00 but when they came and I left them alone to do their job ,they claimed I had bad mold which scared me for myself and my daughter, he even showed me a picture of how moldy the inside of the furnace chambers were. I asked how he got that picture and he said he put his phone inside an opening. Something along that line, and that the ducts couldn't be done without the cleaning of the mold first. He then called his boss who said he'd give me a $900.00 deal as it is usually more than that. I Got scared. I had them do that job, but my ducts still weren't clean and the dust is just as bad here. He claimed we'd breathe easier and feel so much better. No difference. I'm now over $1000.00 poorer ************************ If I felt better about this and they assured me all is good and they'd come back to do the duct work , and making another appt I'd feel better. But they just won't answer . When I called back about the ducts, Many times, nobody answers. He called his boss who said I could get the job done for a deal %900.00
